Samantha's nicknames are Sam and Sammy. She has a chicken pox scar on the right side of her forehead. She has a tattoo of a butterfly on her low back. Her ears and tongue are pierced.
Samantha used her cell phone to call her mother from Huntington, West Virginia at 9:45 pm on November 11, 2002. She said she was on her way home, but she never arrived. Her cell phone was turned off. She has never been heard from again. At 3:30 am the next day, Samantha's car was found abandoned in Wayne County, West Virginia. It was in a secluded area. It had been set on fire and was still burning when police found it.
In June 2003, Chadwick E. Fulks and Branden L. Basham were charged with carjacking resulting in Samantha's death. The two men had escaped from jail a week before Samantha vanished and went on a crime spree. In July 2005, Basham pleaded guilty to murdering Samantha and was sentenced to life in prison. Both men are on death row in South Carolina.
Samantha remains missing. Foul play is suspected.
