Chicago hospital ends lockdown after shooting

Chicago (CNN) -- Police continued searching Friday for the suspect in a fatal shooting at a Chicago medical center.

A man killed his girlfriend in a hospital parking garage, prompting a lockdown for much of the night, CNN affiliate WLS reported....

If he's a hospital employee he may know numerous places to hide and/or get out unnoticed. JMO

UIC spokesman Mark Rosati confirmed Earl Roberts, a person of interest in the case, was taken into custody

UIC spokesman Mark Rosati confirmed Earl Roberts, 47, a housekeeper at the hospital and person of interest in the case, was taken into custody.

The victim later was identified as Angela Bonds-Roberts, 48, of 3408 S. Harlem. She also was employed at the hospital.

Earl Roberts was found guilty this past May and was sentenced in August.

A West Side man was sentenced to 90 years in prison Tuesday for ambushing his ex-wife and shooting her to death as she left her job at the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center on Thanksgiving Day in 2011.

Earl Roberts, 52, was convicted of murder in the death of Angela Bonds, 48, who was killed as she finished her shift on Nov. 24, 2011, according to the Cook County states attorneys office.
