The father, Eliazar Urruita-Quiñones, 32, is charged with three counts of intentional child abuse resulting in death or great bodily harm.
He is being held in the Bernalillo County Detention Center in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
Diana Urruita, who turns 6 weeks old today, was flown Wednesday to Albuquerque, where medical personnel discovered brain injuries, broken legs and broken ribs they said were caused by abuse.
