The MIT campus was put on lockdown Saturday morning following a report of a person with a long rifle and body armor spotted in a campus building.

This morning information was received from Cambridge Police that there was a person with a long rifle and body armor in the Main Group Building of MIT. Multiple law enforcement agencies have responded. Stay indoors and shelter in place and report suspicious activity to the campus police dispatch at 617 253 1212 or dial 100 from a campus phone. More updates to follow.

We have a poster with a son at MIT, I remember from the blizzard thread, I think.

Keeping them and all in my thoughts. Hopefully this turns out to be a mistaken sighting or something lease:

This says police were taking down crime scene tape on Mass ave around 10 am, and a statement is expected soon:

This sounds promising. I hope that the comment on their twitter about 'negative results' means that they don't think there is a threat anymore.
