There were some reports that Stephany had been stabbed as well, has anyone heard anything else about this, what might have been used? I know the tennis raquet was ruled out as a weapon.

TIA:waitasec:

It would make sense since there was blood splstter on the walls & a violent struggle.

I am getting nothing on my search...could this translation by some way mean a death certificate? They have the body of the deceased, etc.

I was thinking it was for the person who had to identify the body. Her brother Enrique.

New find for me:
ROL has this:

"Police indicate Flores Ramirez' body was found "in lateral position with the arms extended and legs against the wall."

Does the "arms extended" not imply he moved her?

Either to a different position in the room, or in preparation of further moving?

I was actually thinking the same thing! I'd at least assume the hitman used a gun of some sort. MOO

A thread or two or three back someone made a detailed post regarding who the victims of the hitman were and what he used to kill them - a computer cord and a tie from a bathrobe. He strangled them. I'm not sure if there was a link given. fyi

I believe it was last night we discussed this...I googled the 'hitman' and from the articles I read those were the instruments of death it said he used. I think maybe Bobarino had a link also. HTH

hitman did use strangulation:
computer cord
2nd case was bathrobe tie

The many similarites between Joran Van Der Sloot and his jail-mate Columbian hitman Hugo Trujillo Ospina.

Both have allegedly killed more than once, both specialize allegedly in killing females. Both have left plenty of incriminating evidence at the crime scene, both have been accused of killing women in several foreign countries, both actually advertise their services on the internet!

Yes, while Joran touts his poker playing, Ospina actually offered his hitman services online!

Ospina's latest arrest, you may know, was for killing Peruvian businesswoman, Myriam Fefer, at the request of her own daughter and her female lover, Liliana Castro. Ospina is suspected of previously killing Argentinian Nora Dalmasso. Ospina allegedly left his DNA under Fefer's fingernails which led to his extradition to Peru. Similar evidence was involved in Dalmasso' case.

Ospina also has extortion in common with Joran. Ospina extorted an attorney for $1,000 in exchange for not killing him.

Google will translate it, if you paste in the url.

P.S:
Differences: Ospina did not utter a word to authorities upon his arrest and extradition to Peru. Joran can learn much from him

I remember reading early on that JVDS had a tide chart and other maps, to dispose of her at sea. I wonder if we saw all the pictures of what LE found on him.

Unfortunately, we won't be finding anything out on Monday according to this:

http://translate.google.com/transla...er_sloot_en_la_carcel_/&sourceid=ie8-activity

The court said the judicial proceedings will remain private.

I took this to mean that the public cannot attend th proceedings on Monday, as opposed to the actual trial which by law in Peru must be public.

But, hopefully, late Monday or soon thereafter the results from Monday's hearing will be published.

I appreciate all the news that has leaked in this case.

and adding this:

But, he said, should there be any clue to the disappearance of American Natalee Holloway in Aruba in 2005, case in which Van der Sloot also is committed, the court will take steps to reach the relevant authorities such "evidence "Aruban authorities" without affecting due process in Peru or the fundamental rights of the accused ".

Do you guys think this guy ever even met Joran?

Ludwick had a picture on his Facebook page of them together on Aruba.

He also just posted this: Live on Saturday night @10pm I am going to be on Fox News "Geraldo At Large". Tune in.

The picture is attached.

Thanks Nums24!

I note that the translation (which isn't too good) includes this:

He reported that Judge Morales ordered the execution of psychological and psychiatric expertise to Van der Sloot, and the ratification of the autopsy and forensic tests carried out all the specialists to explain the reasons for their opinions.

Van der Sloot confessed to police he killed Flores in his hotel room, when they were playing poker online.

He said the girl was [saw] a threatening message which came to him about the Holloway case, and to tell him details of the story, she hit him in the temple, so he attacked her by hitting with the elbow at the height [bridge?] of the nose .

The body of the young [wo]man had his [her] face disfigured by the blows.

Hope ths helps.

It implies the judge will get extensive forensic and other evidence--when we will get it I do not know.

NG: report from Rupa that Anita is hiring a new attorney for her son.

The timing of this announcement and the payment to the ex-girlfriend is suspicious.

In reading the news about Monday's hearing before a Judge, I note that he will get psychiatric evaluations.

Maybe you have discussed this here before I joined?

Does anyone know what Peruvian law allows as far as the equivalent of the insanity defense or plea that exists in American states?

Of course, in the USA, I think it usually boils down to is the perpetrator able to comprehend the difference betwen right and wrong or illegalites.

So I don't think American law would save Joran. But that's not relevant. Maybe Peruvian law is more lenient as far as "insanity."

I found this from the JVM transcript tonight:

Jean, Joran has a court date this coming Monday. What do we expect to come out of that hearing?

JEAN CASAREZ, CORRESPONDENT, "IN SESSION" ON TRUTV: Well, Jane, he`s going to be face-to-face with the judge in this case. It`s going to be in a courtroom that is adjacent to the Castro Castro prison. Usually they`ll take someone and bring them to the justice palace, which is right behind me but because of security reasons, this will be done at the facility close to the jail.

And on Monday, Joran Van Der Sloot is going to have to give a formal statement to the judge. He can`t refuse to do it because Peruvian law, it is mandatory at this point. The prosecutor will be there, the defense attorney will be there. We even understand the family attorney for the Flores family will be there in attendance.
