I sure hope that is correct because FNN reported that the attacker had a knife where the blade was 7 or 8 inches long. That can do tremendous damage to a human body so I am praying the injuries sustained concerning the police officer wont result in fatal injuries.

Images of what I believe to be the police officer have been shown on BBC - there were defibrillator pads on his chest, but appeared to be stable, albeit seriously injured

All just my interpretation of images and medical knowledge as a medical student

I am away from my TV and in another room now. Have they reported anything new about the suspicous package seen in his crashed SUV? Is the bomb unit on the scene?

From the position I am afraid it is the officer who has died as the suspect was further round and had weapons pointed at him whilst on the ground. This area is now empty apart from the rubbish that gets left by medical kits etc.

Pictures here show the attacker being loaded into the ambulance.

BBC reported a suspicious vehicle and bomb disposal being on scene, one MP said they had been told there was a suspicious package attached to the car

I just heard on Sky news a witness who said he observed the assailant being put in a ambulance as medics performed CPR on him. LE not speculating or confirming deaths/injuries so I guess we don't know but he did say police officers were injured.

Just was watching 'live' Reuters on FB and if you turn your volume right up you can hear crew...they said that a woman had been shot but that was prob a victim...going back to listen now...just wanted to let you guys know!!

True. It will be a life altering event for so many today who were totally and completely innocent victims and for their families and friends as well.

I am so sorry this has happened to your country

I would much rather know the attacker has died than the police officer. They don't need them alive anymore to trace who they are or what their motive was for doing these heinous attacks.

No I don't think you were, I think there may be some confusion as to who was seen being put in the ambulance. In the chaos I'm not sure how reliable witness statements can be. It seems the assailant was shot 3 times at close range, odds are he likely was killed.

I heard earlier an ambulance was seen speeding away with a police escort, on the news they speculated that could be the attacker, personally I think that is likely to be the police officer.

Hmmm could the attacker been a woman? I havent heard about anyone else being shot but the attacker is why I am wondering.
