I'm sure both of them have either the same name or Alonzo's and Lindsey's names, otherwise they would have been able to ID MJD when the wristbands were located in the luggage. They are seemingly hospital bracelets but they could be luggage tags. They do look more like ER bands though, for sure. Anyway, I doubt they are relevant to ID'ing MJD. But it drives me NUTS not being able to see what all that paperwork says or what's written on those notebook pages! It looks more like female handwriting to me, larger and bubbly. It could be anyone's though. :mad:

ETA- those are definitely hospital bracelets now that I had a closer look..

The arm rests lift up so 3 people could easily ride in the front seat.

I did a little editing on this photo.. inverted colors, sharpened, flipped and changed the contrast. It's a liiiittle bit better. I can make out a few words.

I see 'far from' and at the end I see 'better'. Maybe you guys can take a look and see what you make out.

Here's what I think the letter says,

Line 1: Now I'm far from
Line 2: ?ing to better
Line 3: ? and I feel
Line 4: further he gets to
Line 5: I (I'm:?) slowly slipping away
Line 6: ?? together

It may be folded in a way that there are key words missing. For example Line 3 to Line 4 most likely is missing the word "the". I'd guess the word missing between line 4 and 5 is "me". Purely speculation: Now I'm far from wanting to better myself and I feel the further he gets to me I'm slowing slipping away.....

I am sure the LE has already looked at all of these papers etc. If any of it was important enough or could ID MJD they would have already checked it out. IMO

I am NOT sure. Honestly, if LE was that on top of things, MJD would have been ID'd 9 1/2 years ago....:)
 
There are 1000's of people that are unidentified and the LE's did all they could do to identify them. I can't say IMO whether they botched this case or not.

Well, if I had to guess, I would say "No." If you look - seriously - at everything we've seen here, it seems clear LE hasn't done everything in their power to find the identities of UID's. In MJD's case - and countless others in the US. How can you possibly say what you're saying here???:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:
 
As a step daughter of a federal law enforcement agent-- I have to chime in here. Runaway and prostitution cases/incidents are seldom ever given much attention. There are countless runaways and countless prostitutes who go unidentified, not because it's necessarily impossible, but because they are NOT priority. IMO, MJD's case has a lot of fill-in-the-blanks that could have easily been filled in almost TEN YEARS AGO. I am not trying to say that LE didn't do anything to try to find an identity for her, but unfortunately getting this poor girl an identity is probably not on the top of their list.

I will say those Sheriffs in Maricopa County are always very busy. Look at how many jails they have. I do know that one small slip up can ruin the chances of identifying somebody. I would have to agree with them not making a big priority out of finding out who a dead prostitute was. In all fairness though MJD may not have had any ID since she was so young.
 
When you consider the number of officers that work any particular case vs the number of sleuthers who have the time and energy, there is no comparison.

Botched? I don't think so. For almost 10 years LE has had the people in hand or accessible who could give a name to her. They say they don't know it; or they continue to hide it. I am sure the feeling was that someone would have missed her by now and would have come forward. And in the meantime, crime after crime piles up on the desk of the detectives.

That's why there is a need for folks like us-we have the luxury of digging in on a single case or two and following it until the end....

There is a newspaper in Phoenix called the Bachelors Beat or the Beat per wikipedia it has been around for a LONG time....

It advertises escort services and all that kind of stuff,,,adult businesses etc...

I wonder if they have archives they could go back in and look for Dollar Bill or Kc Slim or maybe even a pic of MJD maybe there is something in their archives in the personals

HAH I remember this paper. During my freshman year, some chick had a pager # ONE NUMBER off of mine, with my same name, and guess who got all the calls? Changed my number cause of that.
One guy was nice enough to tell us the paper it was in and everything about the ad (the description actually fit me- we thought it was my ex playing a sick payback joke). My mom and I waded through all the gross crap in there to find it. o_O

Sorry I haven't been around too much last couple days. My daughter came home yesterday from a 2 week vacation and her dad's still in town until tomorrow evening.

I understand LE is busy and have an awful lot on their plates. But IMO - MJD was a victim all around. And the bottom line is, she was a CHILD and a human being. I shudder to think how many kids like her are out there in the world, on their own and being exploited. These are the kids who are falling through the cracks. The most vulnerable of our society. It breaks my heart. In MJD's case, not only is a child unidentified nearly 10 years later (which I doubt anyone involved could have anticipated), but quite possibly a victim of murder. That car was compromised in LE's possession. I realize there are facts in this case we do not yet know, but it really breaks my heart.

This week in Vegas, we had an arrest of 2 people - a 21 Y/O girl and a 31 Y/O man who murdered a 17 Y/O runaway. He was pimping her out on Craigslist and the 3 of them were caught up in a "love triangle." He killed her, knocked out all her teeth, cut off all her tatoos and buried her in the desert. Sadly, these murderers have a newborn baby and CPS cannot determine exactly when the victim entered the foster care system. Sorry, but WTF? :furious:
