I thought I read every post in both threads Did I miss something? Because I haver never heard about any of this Can you tell me about which page this was on to save me from having to read it all over again lol I don't ever remember reading about the Sodder's getting a threat from someone. Thanks!
Some interesting reads as I skimmed through quickly:

Thread I- Posts 28, 233, 267, 268. Thread II, 44 55 69.

WHY? Pamphlet

This is the "WHY?" pamphlet printed and distributed by George Sodder in the 1950's

About the faulty wiring. I think it is entirely possible. Figure it this way::: If the Sodder family have lived there for a long time without an issue, and than suddenly have the wiring changed, and then suddenly there is a fire, it would make sense to me that the wiring company did something wrong, made a mistake, and the house had an issue.

BTW --- Has anyone found the magazine with the little girl's photo in it that looked so much like George's daughter?

Gina, I purchased a copy of the Look Magazine-no picture of the ballet class-see quote about. Anyone have a gold classmates.com account?
Maybe could find someone who went to school in the 1940's who knew something about the picture in Look or knew who this girl is. Probably not Betty, but it would be nice to know who she is/was.

Since Mr. Sodder was probably having this letter written by one of his private detectives, it could easily have been a typo or a mistake by the person who wrote the letter. (about the date)[/quote] Catsy, this is from an earlier post I made. I hope it helps. I actually bought the Look magazine it was suppose to be in but there was no picture of a ballet class.
And about the wiring, Mrs. Sodder saw the lights on after they got out of the house which expects say could not have been the wiring-or the lights would have gone out.

Okay thanks Fox. I am going to call tomorrow, to the library of congress. They have an extensive set of this magazine, lots of the photographs on file. I am going to ask the librarian if she can help me locate the picture we need, and ask her to send me just the photo via email.

If my memory is correct, we have already tried this and were told that we would have to have someone actually do this search. I remember visiting the website and trying to find a link with no luck. It has been so long ago, I don't remember the details.

I was looking around. Wondering if it could possibly have been TIME magazine. They did lots of pictures of children during this time period.

I have sent a letter to that school. I have asked them if they could find a photo of this girl who supposedly looked so much like Betty, and send me a copy via my email. Unable to find an email or website addy for this school, I sent a regular by mail letter. Let's pray the school is still in existance, at the address provided on page seven, and that they have kept a lot of the older photographs. I explained the reasoning, and told them if the child was stolen, IF she was stolen, it is a crime, and it needs to be investigated. I also am searching for an expert willing to give his or her time, to see if the two photos are indeed of the same person. Experts can determine to a degree if it is plausible that these two children are the same. IF, the children are not the same child and this is determined by an expert, we can all assume the child in question had a lot of the same features as Betty. If on the other hand, an expert says it is plausible that the children are indeed the same child, we have a new lead. I am sure, that if this ballet group was with the school and was put into a magazine, than they probably would have kept a copy of the photo.

I tend to believe the photo will be a lookalike, and that George's wrong identification of this child as his own was fueled by the hope his children were alive, and the hope that his children would be found and returned to him. Imagination and wishful thinking can lead to a mistake. But I could be wrong and believe that just in case I am wrong, we should check into it.

As far as I know this was already done along time ago. They were either closed or didn't have records from that long ago I don't remember right now but I do know somebody else already looked into this and it was a dead end. Now that I think of it I think Mr Sodder or one of the P.I. went there as matter of fact and they wouldn't give them any information. Even if this was Betty whoever took her would have changed her name so even if they did have the records it wouldn't have said she was Betty Sodder.

Guess what? I just recieved an email from the library of congress, and they are willing to look for the photo for us. I need any and all info we have on that photo. Do any of you know if the photograph said the children were all from that school, or just the girl in question? Wjat do we know? Are we certain of the year at all?

Hello Carla Hume

12 May 2008
Ms. Hume,

Locating the specific picture in question in LOOK Magazine could be the
equivalent of searching for a needle in a haystack but I am certainly willing to
do some searching for you. The early years of LOOK Magazine (including the late
1940's) are not well-indexed so it is extremely difficult to find single images
in the issues.

Do you have any more information concerning the image other than it is a
photograph of a ballet class of little girls? Do you know the subject of the
article in which the photo appeared? Or where the photo was taken? You say
that Mr. Sodder saw the photo in LOOK about two years after the children
disappeared, so I would search in the 1947 and 1948 issues. Does that sound
like the correct time frame to you?

Please let me know if you have any additional information so I can begin my
searching.
