So now there is no bat? No stabbing? No broken neck? This is getting really frustrating. :banghead:
Base ball bat not mentioned.
No mention of stabbing.
Although he didn't state a broken neck, he mentioned trauma to back of head and neck, so it could be broken.

Also, no mention of the eyes or lack thereof of one.

They need to discuss in detail what authority the US FBI has in Aruba to arrest one of their citizens. Details, details, details ....

I personally do not have enough information to say that the FBI dropped the ball here. It just seems like Greta and her crew are trying to gin up controversy by stating that the FBI screwed up.

20/20 segment is coming up after commercials - finally!

Mark Furman did not mention a bat, but he did not say that there wasn't one. He said that she had blunt force trauma to her head which the ME said was more severe than what would have happened from just falling and hitting her head on the wooden bed frame.

Yes, that is the way I heard it.

IMO, he went at her with a bat. Autopsy probably shows the injuries are consistent with a bat-shaped instrument. I bet they do not have the bat. VDS not gonna leave a bat around nor his bloody clothes. It will not matter.

I was paying attention but ~ did he say "no baseball bat" or just not mention it and instead talked about the wooden bed frame? :waitasec:

I don't think the bat was mentioned. This is my recollection of what Mark said. Hope it doesn't cause more confusion lol.

Stories of blood all over the room aren't true. Blood was coming out of the left ear, nose and back of neck. The latter causing brain hemmorage which was the cause of death. Speculating on where the body was found ( beside the top corner of the bed) and the way the box spring bar of the bed stuck out it could be assumed she hit that part falling down causing the trauma to her neck. But the trauma she suffered could not have happened by an accident fall, only with great force. Hope this helps.

To me the difference is that Greta had someone credible there in Lima getting the story from the Medical Examiner.

I swear Nancy gets her information from rumors and speculation on message boards.

What's sad is that if the baseball bat story is not really true - it's already making it's way around the Internet. The latest story on CNN.com mentions the bat and quotes Nancy's show.

The ME theorized that her head was hit on the wooden bed frame. He never mentioned a baseball bat. I think if there was a weapon like that he would have mentioned it to Mark.

I tend to believe this version vs. the stuff we are hearing from some of the other sources, especially the translated ones.
Now I am really confused, because I thought it was the CNN editor in Peru who confirmed the baseball bat. :waitasec: Not that I don't find Mark very credible, of course!

I'm so confused with you............

20/20
Reporting from Peru:
"...other girls will not suffer..."
Smart, fun-loving, lots of friends.
VDS: Casino to casino; country to country.

Police say she was very good at poker. She was winning, and VDS noticed her and approached her to congratulate her on her winnings.
Run-down hotel, where he paid 2 weeks in advance.

I can't watch our only TV at camp, some 99 yr. great coach of basketball died.
John Wooden, my husband is a HOOSIER and this guy was his HERO...........so thanks for all info given here!!!

MF said that the ME opined to him about the injuries. Did the CNN editor say where he got his info about the bat?

I'm just catching up, but I really think, between Joran being a tennis player, and the police saying that no weapon was initially found, that we are talking about a tennis racket. I can see a Spanish speaker pantomiming a two-handed tennis swing, and an English-speaker misinterpreting that.

- police: her neck broken
- deja vu: casino, etc.
- showing video of NH and VDS playing blackjack
- 2 women - 2 casinos
- MO is same; but scenes different
- luring women in
- VDS said NH pursued him

JoeT: in Peru, his outlook is bleak
SR's Father: justice will be served - my daughter will be (paraphrasing) the vehicle
