A 43-year-old man, twice convicted of criminal sexual conduct, has been sentenced to life in prison for molesting two Lakeville boys.
Robert O. Bolletts sentence was levied March 6 on charges of criminal sexual conduct in the second and fourth degree. He had pleaded guilty to both charges on Jan. 7.
Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom said Bollett was given the plea deal because of Backstroms hesitation to put the child victims through a jury trial.
This has all been very difficult, Backstrom said. And a life sentence is very significant.
Parole is not an auto release. Yes, 12 years is a little quick, but I believe the proper safeguards are in place that if (Bollett) is ever allowed to be released, he will not pose a risk.
