ORLANDO, Fla. -- A 17-pound beagle named Belle is more than man's best friend. She's a lifesaver.

Belle is in Washington, D.C., Monday to receive an award for biting onto owner Kevin Weaver's cell phone to call 911 after the diabetic Ocoee man had a seizure and collapsed.

That story made me smile. :) I like "feel good" stories amongst the bad news we get so wrapped up in.

Thanks for sharing.

Yep, that's great....:woohoo:
Florida hat's off to your state from answering and sending help.
NOT like Michigan:behindbar

I'm pretty sure the recent news of what happened when a call was ignored has tightened up 911 calls in ALL states. To answer a call from a barking dog is probably not the usual norm for an afternoon of answering calls.

way to go belle!! every time I read a story about animals doing things like this, I think "And there are people out there that you can't train to do these things!!"

Just reinforces my thinking that anyone who abuses an animal is gonna answer to God!! They are special!!
