Kyron Horman News and Case Update – Kyron’s Stepmother Under Scrutiny
June 19th, 2010

Kyron Horman News and Case Update – Kyron’s Stepmother Under Scrutiny. Kyron Horman is still missing over two weeks after he went missing from his school in Oregon. His stepmother claims that she seen him at 8:45 am on June 4th as he was walking towards his classroom 150 feet away. That’s the last time anyone has seen him alive.

Two weeks later, and this missing persons case has turned into a criminal investigation. Authorities have put out flyers, and they seem to target his stepmother, raising a lot of eyebrows.
The flyer asks if anyone has seen Kyron, and also asks if they had seen Terri Horman or her white Ford Truck on the day that the young boy went missing.
The focus of the investigation shifted to Mrs. Horman after her story about what she did on the day of his disappearance didn’t match her cell phone records. Due to cell phone records found, investigators have been combing bodies of water around the area that he went missing from.

Police seek information on missing boy's stepmother
CNN-June 19, 2010 4:37 a.m. EDT

In a brief phone interview with CNN, sheriff spokeswoman Lt. Mary Lindstrand said the focus of the investigation is not on Terri Horman.

"We're looking for every bit of information that we can," Lindstrand said. "We are not in a position to name anybody a person of interest."

The dark-haired and redheaded women standing side by side at a news conference in the Kyron Horman investigation share a longtime bond with the 7-year-old boy gone missing. With a nation looking on, they shared their grief under the glare of television.

The mother, Desiree Young, 38, and stepmother, Terri Moulton Horman, 40, have been friends for years, long before the beaming and bespectacled 7-year-old went missing from Skyline School in northwest Multnomah County. Since his June 4 disappearance, his blended family has hunkered down out of public view, emerging only as a group. Neither mother has spoken publicly, and the dads have read only prepared statements.

But details of their relationship have emerged in multiple interviews by The Oregonian with friends and family.

Kyron story is on AMW broadcast right now.

[Sorry. They only showed about 2 minutes about Kyron.]

Multnomah County authorities are asking that Skyline School parents, teachers, staff and anyone else who was at the school the day Kyron Horman was last seen return to the school Sunday with completed questionnaires about that day.

A police officer will be at Skyline School between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. to accept the questionnaires.

Investigators on Friday released the questionnaires and fliers with photographs of Kyron; his stepmother, Terri Moulton Horman; and a white pickup similar to one she drives. They hope the images jog the memories of those who may have seen Kyron and his stepmother June 4, the day the 7-year-old disappeared.

"The purpose of this is to get information that they might not have thought about reporting before," said Lt. Mary Lindstrand, a Multnomah County sheriff's spokeswoman.

There wasn't a lot of actual search activity apparent Saturday, but there was some. A KOIN Local 6 crew did see a couple of search and rescue crews near the school. Law enforcement officers refused to divulge where they were headed or what they were doing. However, investigators did confirm that they were still searching for Kyron Horman.

Terri Moulton Horman Investigated in Kyron Horman’s Missing Case

The first thing that set investigators off was when she updated her Facebook page after Kyron Horman became missing to say she was “hitting the gym” This raised some doubts as it was not in normal character for a parent of a missing child. Although the officers did tell the family to try and go about their normal business and try to stay healthy.

The extra scrutiny on Terri Horman is taking an emotional toll, according to a close friend.
"I want people to know that she's a good person she's a devoted mother," said Jaymie Finster. "She's been in Kyron's life since he was 3-day-old."
Finster has been a close friend of Horman's since the two attended junior high school together in Roseburg.

She says the quality of attention Horman is getting from the disappearance of her stepson, Kyron, is unfair and damaging.
"I think a lot of people just want to go with the information that we don't have and try to make something of it and that's very hurtful and hard for me to see happening."

Parents, others from community return questionnaires Sunday in the effort to find Kyron Horman

Cars and trucks pulled periodically into the parking lot at Skyline School, where Multnomah County authorities waited in the drizzle Sunday to collect questionnaires that they hope will bring new clues to help them find missing 7-year-old Kyron Horman.

Chris Feryn was among about the dozen or so parents who dropped off a questionnaire before 11 a.m. Feryn's son just finished seventh grade at Skyline and had answered questions in the days since Horman was last seen at the school on June 4.

"He didn't have a lot of information the first time," Feryn said about his son. "We'll try to help out however we can."

A Multnomah County Sheriff spokesman said there was nothing new to report in their investigation as of noon Sunday.

Scores of questionnaires from the parents of Skyline children were turned in by Sunday afternoon, giving investigators new clues to study as they try to untangle the mystery of the disappearance of Kyron Horman.

While most of the surveys were returned on Sunday, some parents had emailed them in earlier and sources told KGW that they were receiving fresh information and fresh leads to pursue.

In an interview for "Good Morning America" filmed at KATU's Portland studio, Jaymie Finster said Terri Horman is a bit tired, wants Kyron home and is frustrated over the investigation now pointing towards her. She said Horman signed off on this interview because some of the public's accusations and speculation on the Internet has been so damaging.
