I found the whole presser to be an advertisement for Baez firm.
Like a Pep rally...........look at our NEW employees!
Totally unprofessional.
I am not impressed at all.

Seems to me that the time spent "recruiting" would be better spent actually WORKING to prepare for trial. I figured that out without the benefit of law school. Go me.

The one who was also fired from the Public defenders office is my guess..... http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/112908/met_361369960.shtml
Gone are Ann Finnell and Patrick McGuinness, the subjects of an Oscar-winning documentary for defending falsely accused teenager Brenton Butler in 2000. Butler was exonerated after they convinced a jury that Jacksonville police beat his murder confession out of him, then tipped detectives to the real killers.

I thought it was stated that the new attorneys are working "pro bono" ....

I understood Baez to say Ms. Simms was pro bono, but the other two were not. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Casey Anthony's Attorney Introduces Additions to Defense Team

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/09/14/casey-anthonys-attorney-make-announcement/

<snipped>

Baez said the new attorneys, who will work the case pro bono, will be "invaluable assets" to the defense team. He and other attorneys declined to discuss details of the case.

"I'd rather be accused of overprepared instead of being underprepared," Baez said. "We're all prepared to fight and fight as hard as we have to."

I agree. The defense roster changes on a near daily basis anyway. Why bother to announce the new attorneys when chances are they'll be history by the time May rolls around?

In my opinion, I think the reason he does call these press conferences is to, in his eyes, show off. Everyone knows the defense team is a joke. They give new meaning to the term turnover. I think anytime someone is willing to toss their hat in the ring, they want to show it off to the world, hoping that people who have already made up their minds that she is guilty will have second thoughts and think, hmmm, so many people jumping on board to defend her. I think that percentage of people that fall for this may be small, but in the defense teams warped way of thinking, they're willing to try anything to take the focus off of the facts of the case.

We're a dream team and we have real important people just jumping at the chance to be a part of it. If one person buys into that bs, then they have at least one more person on their side. Plain and simple. A normal defense team would do it through the appropriate channels, in court without all the cameras and dog and pony show. Everything about them from day one has been a ploy for attention. This is all they have up their sleeves to work with.

this reminds me of the OJ fiasco................same circus!
All evidence is there...........
I call this a PEP RALLY for JB, and new associates!

I never followed that case. I constantly see parallels with the Scott Peterson case and this one.

I think it was an excuse to show off his new flexible plastic sign with the fancy gold decal.
But what do I know - I am sleep deprived! LOL Which way to the coffee pot? :banghead::banghead:

So basically McGuinness and Finnel are wanting staring roles in another movie, and this looked like an excellent opportunity to make that happen. So who is going to play JB? Carlos Mencia is comical enough for the role.

I guess when your losing the war you bring in more soldiers...News flash your still losing the war your just going to endure more casualties. Nothing can change the evidence... Nothing

So much for staying out of the media. Poor things. If the media is not constantly "badgering" them they seek the spot light out. What does this say about them? I don't see Ashton and team jumping around in front of cameras. THAT speaks volumes.

MOO and stuff.
They already have an adequate supply of dingys, and apparently got a couple more.

Maybe the S.S. Caylee Marie is available.
