Wasn't sure where to put this, but didn't want to lose track of it. It's the first we've heard from Kyron's paternal grandparents.

Sticking it in this thread until I find a home for it.

Rich Davidson, Kyron's grandfather, said the Thursday's birthday party helps remind people that much of Kyron's family lives in Medford.

"It means a lot to us," he said.

At the same time, Davidson, who is Desiree's father, wants the community to know that the search continues for his grandson.

Davidson said it is difficult for the family to maintain their jobs and life while the thought of Kyron is always in the back of their minds.

"It is stressful," he said. "We're holding up, but something comes to our mind that we get tearful about."

Desiree Young and Kaine Horman sat down for an interview with Priya David Clemens of CBS Portland, Ore. Affiliate KOIN-TV.

They also say Terri Horman failed two polygraph tests.

And Young says she suspected Terri from the start.

They composed the statement after meeting with more than a dozen journalists in a session where they barred reporters from The Oregonian and Willamette Week, saying the newspapers had focused too little on the search for Kyron and too much on the family's personal history. But they read the statement in public.

In a phone interview, Desiree Young was asked if Terri knew they had written the statement. She said, “No, Terri didn’t know that we wrote this statement.” She wouldn’t comment as to why Terri wasn’t involved in the writing of it.

Young told a national news show that she is convinced Terri Moulton Horman is responsible for her son's disappearance.Kyron Horman's mother and stepfather are convinced the boy's stepmother, Terri Moulton Horman, is responsible for his disappearance, according to an interview that aired on this morning's "Today" show.

"Without a doubt," Desiree Young said, Terri Horman plotted the boy's disappearance.

"I think it was very planned," she said, sitting next to her husband, Medford police detective Tony Young.

DESIREE YOUNG: I wouldn't say she would replace me, obviously, but she definitely gave him what he needed.

KATE SNOW: Your kidneys were failing?

DESIREE YOUNG: Yeah. I was so sick that I was passing out at times.
Desiree says she went to Canada for treatment and gave Kaine temporary custody of Kyron. When she got back, still recovering and drowning in medical bills, they decided together that Kyron would be best off staying with his dad. She admits that, despite the anguish Terri had caused her in he past, she now thought Kaine and Terri could give Kyron a good life.

DESIREE YOUNG: I didn't see anything that I was unhappy with. I didn't think that my child was unhappy.

Kyron’s Parents in Touch With Oprah but Say They Won’t Take Money for the Story

The parents of missing 7-year-old Kyron Horman tell WW that producers for Oprah Winfrey have contacted them. But Kaine Horman and Desiree Young say they won’t take money for the story of Kyron’s disappearance.

“We wouldn’t sell it,” Young said in an interview Tuesday.

“Oh yeah,” Horman agreed. “It’s not about money.”

While they said they’ve been in contact with producers from The Oprah Show, they said they’ve received no offers yet for book or movie deals.
