GUILTY Australia - Five Lin family members murdered, North Epping, NSW, 18 July 2009

This information may be wrong. On court there was a question from lawyer to accused's father in law," did you lend any money to your daughter when she purchased the $380000, 250+ seat buffet restaurant in Melbourne" the answer was no . Another source told that Xie and wife sold the restaurant a few years later at price close to 3 times of the purchase price. They moved to Sydney and brought their house and a unit in Merrylands, and according to police, without a loan.

At last justice has been done!

"On the eighth day of deliberations, a NSW Supreme Court jury on Thursday found Xie, 53, used a hammer-like object to inflict horrific head injuries on his newsagent brother-in-law Min Lin, 45; his wife Lily Lin, 43; her sister Irene, 39; and the Lins' two sons, Henry, 12, and Terry, nine at their North Epping home in July, 2009.
Ms Feng held newspaper articles about the case, while she and her husband Yang Fei Lin both held pictures.
"To punish the murderer really harshly in order to get back justice," writing on the picture of the dead boys said, according to a translation.
"To commemorate very kind relatives, to punish harshly the evil murderer," said writing on pictures of the adult victims.

10 months after Lin Family murder police found the 2x6cm stains in Xie's garage floor which later found contained 4of the 5 victims's DNA and became Xie conviction's only "hard"evidence. But the old news report listed above tells us that there was another much earlier "garage 1st examination" happened on day 5 after the murder. In response to neighbour's report about strange spots near Xie's garage ,police spent 5 hours, used ultraviolet scan, which specializes in picking up material containing even trace amount of DNA. A Chinese media report in Chinese http://news.xinhuanet.com/overse ... ontent_11764507.htm also detailed use of ultraviolet scan to cover " every corner" of the house. Was that examination likely to miss the 2x6cm DNA material containing stains ?

A more reasonable and obvious explanation was that the 2x6cm stains did not exist in the Xie's garage during the garage 1st examination. The stains was likely inplanted some time in between the 2 garage examinations.

Some 1-2weeks after the murder, when police completed their murdeu scene examination and before the house was sealed, some furnitures and boxes were removed from Lin's house into Xie's garage to store. This provide one of the possible ways the stains was inplanted.

Robert Xie should get life sentence, prosecutor tells supreme court

https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2017/feb/10/robert-xie-sentencing-lin-family-new-south-wales

The only appropriate sentence for Robert Xie, who murdered five family members in their Sydney home, is life behind bars, a judge has been told.

The prosecutor Tanya Smith said that whatever the precise motive for the callous and calculated slaying of the Lin family, Xie acted in his own interests.

Justice Elizabeth Fullerton will sentence the 53-year-old on Monday after he was convicted last month.

Xie’s lawyer said no sentencing submissions would be made on his behalf as he continued to maintain his innocence.

At least Tanya Smith has the decency admitting in such a case ,comvict's motivation is still unknown.

Key points of Xie murder case
WHAT THE CROWN SAID:

  • One person murdered the Lin family at their North Epping home in Sydney, in the early hours of July 18, 2009

  • Xie sedated his wife before leaving their bed and creeping into the Lin residence, 300 metres away

  • Xie knew the location of the Lin's outside power box to enable the electricity to be turned off

  • Xie had access to a key and knew the layout of the Lin house

  • Bloodied shoe prints in the Lin home were consistent with Asics sneakers Xie wore

  • On May 6, 2010, Xie cuts up shoe boxes, showing "consciousness of guilt"

  • Small "bloodstain" - dubbed Stain 91 - on Xie's garage floor "most likely" contains DNA of four Lin family victims

  • Partly motivated by his perceived "inferior" status in the Lin family - supported by evidence of Witness A, an inmate who recorded Xie speaking disparagingly of Min Lin

At last justice has been served and five appropriate life sentences have been given to Xie.

Judge Elizabeth Fullerton's "most strident comments were reserved for the impact wrought on a surviving family member, known as Ms AB, who had been overseas at the time of the murder.

It was Xie’s infatuation with Ms AB that prosecutors allege drove him to murder. “She told me her achievements feel hollow and as she has passed various milestones from adolescence to early adulthood since the death of her family, celebrating those achievements with *others is bittersweet,” Justice Fullerton said.

“The far-reaching and immeasurable harm done to Ms AB is also an aspect of the harm done to the community and, for that reason ... I also take that into *account when imposing life sentences in this case.”

The sentencing bookends what has been the most drawn-out murder case in recent NSW history, and one of the most chilling crimes state prosecutors have dealt with."

The day Robert Xie to confessed to gruesome Lin family murders

"But the informant also provided some stunning new information. Xie, he said, had a plan to exonerate himself: if he was made to stand trial, he was going to arrange for a dead person’s fingerprints to be planted on the murder weapon, which hadn’t been located.

Detectives seized on the details and began planning an operation"
"Detectives needed an ‘undertaker’, someone who could meet with Xie and draw out admissions by discussing the plan with him"

Blood spot that caught a mass killer

A tiny spot found on the garage floor named “Stain 91” of family murderer Robert Xie helped convict him of bludgeoning to death five relatives, his appeal hearing heard today.

The stain, measuring 2 centimetres by 6 millimetres, was found under a chest of drawers in Xie’s garage, Crown prosecutor Anna Michelmore SC told the appeal on Tuesday.
