GUILTY Australia - Mathew Dunbar, 42, suspicious death, Walcha, NSW, 2 Aug 2017 *Arrest*

So... is Colin Crossman the ex-husband she attempted to murder? And plead guilty to??

She messaged Colin from Mathew's phone with a fake 'suicide note' at 1:13 and at 2am she rang 000 pretending she'd just found him. When did Colin arrive? Maybe he didn't see the 1:13 text message, until he was woken by a phone call to respond to a 000. Police say he is not under any suspicion so I guess we can just say there's so many awful co-incidences there, poor Colin I hope he is coping ok with all this, so he's living there on the property with his children now, oh that must be difficult knowing that his ex-wife murdered her boyfriend there. I truly wonder why he wouldn't want to take his children and be hundreds of kms away.

Yes, he is the ex husband she was once charged with attempting to murder. She plead guilty to a lesser charge:

From the same article:
The accused and Colin Crossman had met and formed a relationship before purchasing the Croudace St home, where they lived with two young children, a girl and a boy.

Does that mean that the two eldest children belonged to only one of them, or is it just poorly worded?

I have a problem with how many crimes a person can commit before being recognised as dangerous- why did she have custody of her children? And what is with the ex staying with her at the property?

After the attempted murder incident, there was the fraud incident:

The current alleged victim argued for leniency, for the sake of the children:
Darcy-Crossman’s current partner Matthew Dunbar also testified he and her former husband Colin Crossman faced considerable hardship in caring for her three children.

“They are struggling without their mum,” Mr Dunbar said.

I dare say those poor kids are going through a bit more hardship now.

When her trial first began, Crossman had pleaded not guilty to three charges - assault, attempted murder and, alternatively, destroying property by fire.
On day three of the trial she formally entered a plea of guilty to the alternative charge and the jury was dismissed.
The charges arose from alleged incidents, which occurred in Walcha more than three years ago.The charges were:

That on January 17, 2009, she assaulted her husband, Colin Crossman, by hitting him in the head with a blunt instrument in the family home in Croudace St, Walcha; and
That on the morning of January 20, 2009, she set fire to the main bedroom of the home with the intention of killing Colin Crossman; or, alternatively, with the intention of damaging property.

I read somewhere she wholopped his head with a hammer.

Throw away the key!

Mr Crossman had been asleep in bed about 4 o'clock on the morning of January 17, 2009, when he woke up because he had felt a blow to the temple.

Mr Crossman was transported to Tamworth Base Hospital, where blood and urine samples were taken, the results of which produced "a range of medications". Mr Stanhope said the accused had claimed Mr Crossman had been "a bit strange" after eating some Cadbury's chocolate-coated almonds. Police later found a box of almonds, along with a letter addressed to the management of Cadbury's claiming poisoned boxes had been distributed in Australia.

On a computer to which the accused had access, they found evidence of searches such as "Cadbury + almonds + bad" conducted in December.
Police also found searches for a number of the drugs that were found in Mr Crossman's system.
"Fill the jigsaw in and the picture begins to emerge," Mr Stanhope told the jury.

In her eulogy, his partner of three years Natasha Darcy-Crossman described Mr Dunbar as beautiful, loving, caring, generous, kind and sweet.

“I fell in love with him because he loved me when I couldn’t even love myself,” she said.

“He said having the children, and I in his life was the happiest he’s ever been, but we are so much better for having had him in ours.”

For the next four nights Darcy slept on Dunbar’s multimillion-dollar Merino property, thinking that she would meet police at Walcha police station on the Saturday morning to get her things back. She was also hoping it would not be long until Dunbar’s property was officially signed over to her, as he had left it to her in the will he had made a few months earlier. It is a town where people like to talk — and the chatter was loud, especially at the local farmers’ market in the main park on the morning of Saturday, November 18.

Close friends say he truly believed he had found a family in Darcy and her three children. But they also say he was upset with the increasing amount of time his partner’s former husband Colin Crossman was spending at his property — and about having to iron his shirts.https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/nsw/the-mysterious-death-of-farmer-mathew-dunbar/news-story/66d3c30d0451829e3a5daf48add17677

A MOTHER accused of racking up more than $7000 on her former lover’s credit card has launched a sentence appeal amid claims she is under threat and in protective custody. Natasha Darcy-Crossman appeared via video link in Armidale District Court on Monday to appeal the length of her sentence. She was convicted of 12 counts of credit card fraud in June and sentenced to a year’s jail with a non-parole period of six months.
Evidence was also presented that since being imprisoned, the 40-year-old had been placed in protection because of threats and injury from other inmates.

One incident included being “threatened with a syringe by a cellmate”.
“She has had problems in jail and is now in protection

Darcy-Crossman’s current partner Matthew Dunbar also testified he and her former husband Colin Crossman faced considerable hardship in caring for her three children.

Wait.

Who was ironing who's shirts? I can't get to your article TGY. I think I know the answer though.

That's how I read it watergirl.....Dunbar was having to iron Colin Crossman's work shirts?

I heard this on 2GB long before it hit the news. It was the townsfolk that pushed for the police to further investigate. They had their suspicions and they relentlessly pushed for Mathew's justice and they were right!

Ah. That alone speaks volumes. IMO

Ahh watergirl, Colin Crossman has been ruled out as a suspect. That woman was controlling both those men.

Also, I'm amazed how her face changes in every photo. I find myself questioning who it is until I read it's her. What an evil coniving ***** she must be.

No wonder she was placed in protective custody when she was in gaol. The women were a wake-up to her, she couldn't control the women, only men.

So Dunbar testified on behalf of Colin saying he'd face hardship caring for the kids if she was in gaol. So? What really did that have to do with Dunbar? They weren't his kids!
Maybe Dunbar realised he'd end up looking after the kids.
Nope....something doesn't add up.

Yes the ironing bit tells me they were both functioning as her minions... And I am heartened to read that she can't puppeteer the women. Someone came at her with a syringe? *snicker* Gotta love it.

She reminds me of my hubby's ex, there are some definite similarities. 'Nuff said about that.
