Australia Australia - Shiva Chauhan, 27, Melbourne, Vic, 1 May 2014

There is a Facebook Page for Shiva - though there has been no updates recently (from what I can see) - there maybe some soon again as the search is now gone public and the Police are appealing for anyone who knows about the maroon 2006 Camry - or if anyone saw anything around the time of Shiva's disappearance in the Phillip Island area.

Transcript of the Video News Clip below:

Detectives and SES volunteers have spent the day searching dunes on Phillip Island for any trace of a delivery driver who vanished last year.
Seven News has learned a family dispute over the missing Hindu man's marriage to a Muslim woman may be behind his disappearance.

When Shiva Chauhan went missing during a bread delivery run, he left his girlfriend of five years desperately searching for answers.
We just wanted to be together for the rest of our lives, and that happened.
Shiva, who had been studying and working in Melbourne since 2008, was last seen early on May 3 in Dandenong South.
Every second, every minute is a nightmare, just thinking what's happened.
There's all these questions that aren't answered.

Seven News has obtained a statement made to police by Shiva's brother which claims the family of Shiva's then wife, who was a Muslim, was furious with the couple's relationship.
In his statement, he also claims police asked him to wear a hidden microphone when he met Shiva's current girlfriend some time after his disappearance.

His sister, Shashi, told Seven News: Today, a police dog trained to find bodies was flown in from New South Wales to search isolated bush near Flynns Beach at Phillip Island.
We're looking, obviously, to see whether Shiva's down here.
We do have some information to suggest that he may have been brought here shortly after his disappearance.

It's eight months and a day since Shiva disappeared and although police and SES volunteers spent six hours searching scrub near the beach, they found nothing to help solve the mystery.
My message for Shiva's family is, we won't give up .
We will keep searching until we find Shiva.
We want to give them answers.

Police appeals to Indian and Afghani communities for information about missing Indian national Shiva Chauhan
17 FEB 2015 - 5:48PMDetective Senior Sergeant Boris Buick from the Homicide Cold Case and Missing Persons Unit of Victoria Police has spoken to SBS Punjabi program about the search for Shiva Chauhan, who went missing on the night of May 1, 2014. Victoria Police has reasons to believe that he was abducted or taken otherwise to Phillip Island. Police and SES volunteers have searched the area for Shivas body and had a sniffer dog brought in from NSW, which is specially trained to find human remains. But so far, theyve found nothing. Det Snr Sgt Buick acknowledged that Shiva (a Hindu by religion) was in love with a young woman of Afghani background (of Islamic background), and a cultural clash maybe one of the reasons behind Shivas mysterious disappearance. He has also acknowledged that Shiva is now deceased and although Police have a good idea of what may have happened, no charges have been laid so far. He also confirmed that this is a case of suspected homicide and robbery is not a likely scenario, since Shivas wallet full of money and other valuables were found locked inside his abandoned delivery van. The Detective has appealed to the community, especially the Afghan community, to come forth with any information they may be withholding; Police also believe that posting a reward for information may not reap any results.

Anyone with any information about this should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000

:( so obviously a familial interference on the girlfriend/wife's side? Still no answers? This is truly awful.

It is 2 years ago today since Shiva Chauhan went missing - (1st April 2014)

Although there seemed to be some progress for Police in the search for Shiva in the year following his disappearance, it has been a while now since there has been further public news on the case of where he might be.
I am hoping today that Shiva is not forgotten and that if there were a renewed interest in this case that someone might come forward with some information to help bring him home to his heartbroken relatives.
My thoughts go out to Shiva, his family and his friends, today.

http://www.sbs.com.au/yourlanguage/...-us-find-shiva-hes-been-missing-two-years-now

Shiva's older brother Dinesh Chauhan appealed to Victoria Police, "Please just give us some clue. It has been two years now. Each day we wake up thinking that today maybe the lucky day that we'll hear about him, but every day has ended so far in further grief."
"My elderly parents are shattered," added Dinesh. They live in Beas, a small village in Punjab, and devote each day to prayers. "I keep telling my mother, don't worry, Shiva will come back," says Dinesh, but despairs that two years is already ar too long, to live in false hope.

6 years since he disappeared. I still travel past there but it is all built up now. All the land has been subdivided and houses built. I was actually waiting to see if they had found remains when it was getting built on but nothing found.
