The wife of Bell Gardens Mayor Daniel Crespo knew he had had multiple girlfriends — including one woman with whom he went through a “faux wedding” in Las Vegas — before his wife shot him dead in their home last year, according to court records made public Monday.

A family photo shows Levette and Daniel Crespo, who died Sept. 30, 2014, after she shot him multiple times, according to investigators.
A prosecutor told grand jurors that Lyvette and Daniel Crespo had a “very rocky…very difficult, dysfunctional relationship” and that the mayor was far from discreet about his many affairs.

Crespo owned a six-bedroom house that he rented out, but he kept one bedroom there that his wife referred to as his “man cave,” where he would bring his girlfriends during lunch breaks and after work, Deputy Dist. Atty. Beth Silverman told the grand jury.

Most of you know, down South we have a tongue-in-cheek defense - "he needed killing."
Sometimes, I think it's too bad that isn't real & it would probably apply to Mr Crespo.

The phenomenon of people staying with abusive spouses is quite interesting. Usually they will not leave because of money, losing rank in society, "for the kids", or because they have been made to believe they brought it on themselves & deserve no better. It's tragic all the way around... just so sad.
