Found the road 86 ZZyzx inscribed into the rock here http://dzrtgrls.com/justrite-prospe...desert-bighorns-mojave-national-preserve.html on photos day 1. I was reading about the case of Laura Ann Bradbury 3 years old went missing from 29 Palms on Oct 18,1984 Three different people were killed after going to the police after saying they had information about Laura it said that two of them were buried in a dried lake bed I wonder if it could be the same lake bed where this was inscribed on the rock? Strange someone would inscribe the road on a rock? http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/293785 http://cms.sbcounty.gov/Portals/34/HomicideColdCase/1984/Laura_Ann_Bradbury.pdf Brandi Lee Krajewski 2 years old also went missing from Nipton on Oct 7,1982 CA CA - Brandi Lee Krajewski, 2, Nipton, 7 Oct 1982 - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community
Here's a site with Laura Bradbury's father on it. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/archive/index.php/t-114871.html

Kathleen Rodgers who went missing from Oroville, CA in 1973 reminds me of the unidentified woman. I know this is probably not the best thing to go on, but her hair color looks the same in the morgue photo that hasn't been retouched (sort of a dark brown with a red cast, I know a lot of women dyed their hair that color a few decades later, but I don't think that they did back in the 1970s(?)). Also, Ms. Rodger's nose looks like a similar shape.

I think she is a really interesting suggestion! There's just a little more info on her at CP, but nothing I can see that would rule her out.

I am wondering if Katherine Sue Barnum's missing date (1979) is based on when her sister reported her missing or the LKA date. The stats for this lady and informat report that she is in a mineshaft are too close to home not to question the missing/reported missing date.
Here's Katherine's link and photo. Does anyone have a LE contact to confirm this date with?

Ingrid Anderson was from "Richmond"california, her hair style and teeth match 778ufca.I was reading the Zodiac's letters and noticed after 1971 he calmed down quite a bit and talked more about movies which lends that he mite have been in a relationship.Ingrid could have been the Zodiac's girlfriend. This case is similar to the case of Dana Lull also found in a mine shaft. www.doenetwork.org/cases/778ufca.html www.doenetwork.org/cases/792dfca.html www.sbcounty.gov/sheriff/coldcases/75-79.asp "Caution" death photo shows her teeth.

A while back (before I was somewhat overwhelmed by family/health issues), I had e-mailed San Bernardino County about Kathleen Rodgers possibly being this UID. I heard back from Bob Hunter --

Unfortunately, Kathleen Rogers does not have any DNA, dental or fingerprints for comparison. Without at least one of these it is not likely to make a match. Butte County needs to see if there are biological family members that could submit DNA samples for comparison.

Dear all. This is my first post on these forums. I like to do a little sleuthing on the web, I have an eye for maps, faces and details, and an inquisitive mind. In hindsight I should have joined the boys in blue when I was young!

I have been following the case of this girl for a few years now hoping to see some leads. I don't know what it is about this case that keeps me coming back, I think it's the brutality of her passing and the way she was treated like rubbish to be discarded afterwards. She also looks like somebody who would be missed. I've done a little digging on this and would like to put a few points out there for others, and also pose a few questions for opinions.

First I think the mine she was discovered in was the Blue Buzzard mine, as the Police report abbreviated it to "BB mine". http://www.anyplaceamerica.com/topographic_maps/california/san_bernardino_county/blue_buzzard_mine/162-4333/ This is a remote spot but one that can be accessed very quickly off the road between LV and LA. It makes you wonder how this spot was familiar to the murderer, as if he had done it before, it was conveniently just over the rise to stay out of view of this main highway.

What are your thoughts on the method of death? A shotgun? Not the sort of concealed weapon someone would carry around and whip out in a moment of passion. Who would carry this, where and why? It sounds like an abduction gone wrong or an execution.

Then there is the girl in a bathing suit. This is the kind of outfit you would wear where you felt safe, which suggest she was in a crowded area or her own home before death.

I have looked at the Dana Lull murder as the similarities are disturbing. However I wish people would not post up the links to that site above which is fiction (it even says so in the address bar) even the boyfriends name is wrong. Genuine information on that case is disappointingly hard to come by.

I just hope this case gets solved, along with so many others, to ease the pain of loved ones left behind. After a while the key players, parents and siblings, die out and you wonder if there is any need to rake over old coals. Dana Lull's parents have passed on, Dana was their only child, you can only imagine their pain at living out their lives not knowing justice or closure. Good luck to all here who try and make it otherwise.

Hi Lester, and welcome to Websleuths.

The thing that puzzles me is the swimsuit. Aside from Whiskey Pete's and Gold Strike casinos, there wasn't a swimming pool within 100 miles of that location back in 1976. There are a couple more casinos there now, but back in 1976, there was only Whiskey Pete's and Gold Strike.

Looking at the overhead view, there is sort of a scummy pond in Nipton, and a couple others near the Cal State University research center on Zzyzx road, that don't appear to be suitable for swimming. There might have been a motel or two in Baker with a swimming pool. But where else would she be swimming or sunbathing? People generally don't go out into the open desert dressed for sunbathing.

And if she came from one of the casinos, the sound of a shotgun blast would have certainly been noticed.

If she came from Barstow or Las Vegas (or further away), there would have been many locations much closer that would have been just as suitable for disposal of a body.

Was probably sunbathing; possibly a hot tub or sauna? I don't consider 150-160lbs being 5'4" as slightly obese. Many women are the same size

Insufficient DNA for profiling

What does this mean? Obviously DNA profiles would be there since there is a complete body. I must be misunderstanding something.

It means that the DNA sample degraded and a full profile cannot be pulled with today's technology.

How can that be, was she cremated? They dug up Jesse James a few years ago and recovered his DNA.

My point was that there isn't anything out there for miles around, except a couple of casinos at the Nevada border and the city of Baker, which is almost entirely gas stations and fast food joints, and maybe a cheap motel or two. The very few permanent residents in that area don't have swimming pools or hot tubs. They live mostly in very low-budget mobile homes.

And in the open desert, people generally don't want to wander around in a swimsuit. The ground is rugged and dusty, the plant life is scratchy on the ankles, and there are a lot of insects and rattlesnakes.

Fair enough. Maybe not "slightly obese", but i would say heavier than average. Just looking at the postmortem, she appeared to have a bit of a double chin, but I suppose some of it might be postmortem bloat.
