Identified! CA - San Joaquin Co., WhtFem 320UFCA, 29-41, Gorilla hiking boots, Mar'95 - Amanda Lynn Schumann Deza

They were able to determine that in the years before her death, Deza lived in the Napa, Oakley and Delta areas, but they have very little information about her life and activities for several years before her murder, Jimenez said.

No missing person’s report was filed for Deza, but people were looking for her after her disappearance, Jimenez said in response to reporters’ questions.

"They didn’t get very far,” she said.

Includes lots of pictures

Though Deza's identity is now known her killer(s) have never been caught. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered by the Stockton CrimeStoppers.

Here's another picture of the refrigerator back in 1995.

"Speaking with the family, she was last seen at an unknown apartment complex in the city of Napa with an unidentified male she met in a rehabilitation facility,” the company wrote in its post.

Snip

Still, investigators said much mystery shrouds Deza's circumstances before her death, and they hope members of the public who knew her would come forward and offer even a glimpse of her life before she was murdered.

“It’s kind of hard to investigate who killed someone if you don’t know who they [the victim] are,” Jimenez said.

Withrow said a missing person’s report was never filed, and her family was shocked to learn that her remains were identified.

“She was a 30-year-old woman and out on her own and had her own life,” Withrow said. “So the family just didn’t know.”

Hello, I just came across this article about Deza you might find interesting.

How sad. I had wondered if the children might have been placed in foster children, it must have been several years before Deza's death in 1994. Looks like it will be difficult to solve this one unless there is the perk's DNA in or on something in the fridge.

It's interesting that where she was last seen was 80 miles from where she was found. Yeah, it's possible that the fridge was transported that distance, or her body was if the refrigerator was from somewhere else, somewhere closer, and then she was put it into later, but it makes you wonder if her death didn't happen closer to where her body was found.

Perhaps she was living closer to the site where she was found as it's not concretely stated anywhere that she was actually living in Napa at the time of her death..alone or with anyone. That's just the last place she was seen. I doubt records from rehabs she went to would still be available but if so, they might be able to shed some light on her last years, including people she may have associated with from there.

One of the places listed where she had lived was Oakley, which is about 25 miles from Holt, where her body was found. Also said Delta, there is no such town but a region called The Delta, which is the San Joaquin /Sacramento area. It doesn't give a date for last time seen, could have been months, even years, before she disappeared.
