CA CA - Young women missing in California in the 80's

Even though this was from 3 years back, I'm retrieving this file because of some interesting similarities in the victims.

All are long dark-haired girls (with the exception of Alma Root) who vanished from areas near Merced, Modesto and Fresno, I-5 and Hwy 99. Facial characteristics are rather similar. Has there been any further information on the disappearance of these girls or are they the victims of a serial killer?

Ilene Misheloff was abducted from Dublin,CA, about an hour away from those areas. Her suspected killers James Daveggio and Michelle Michaud are serial killers who are on death row for another abduction and killing in Pleasanton, CA- Vanessa Sampson. Ilene's backpack was found in Mape Park in Dublin. That's all the info I have, but I do see her father regularly walking their dog, wish I could do more for them...

I know they are or were considered suspects in Jaycee Dugard's case. I don't know about any others though.

I know the FBI is also looking at the people who kidnapped Elizabeth Smart as possibilities in the Dugard kidnapping-she and Elizabeth look uncanily alike.

I agree, I never thought Ilene was connected to the other girls that some suspect Tim Bidner of killing. She was a teenager with dark hair while the others were young and blond. Regardless, it's amazing that none of these girls has been found in all this time.

There were many, many girls in central California who disappeared in the 1980s and 90s. I remember one with long blond hair who was babysitting 2 or 3 young children and disappeared. She might have been a murder victim, but some man with a truck was a suspect although never proven. I can't even remember her name.

Are you talking about Stephanie Condon in Oregon? That guy's been in prison for another offense, and admitted that he saw her that night... Just crazy that they haven't been able to find her- although the terrain is insane.

I am about 50 pages from finishing the book mentioned in the previous post, "Stalemate", by John Philpin (1997). It's definitely an interesting book. Some of the witness composites do look quite a bit like Binder when matched to a photo the Charley Project has, especially in regards to the Michaela Garecht case.

I think when the police could positively rule Timothy Binder out as a suspect in the Angela Bugay case it made their case against him become that much more difficult.

This Binder character is really sick, though. Just to read some of the things he sent children and parents of some of the missing girls to taunt them should have brought him the scrutiny he claims he didn't deserve. At the very least he should be looked at as a possible child molester from his past and from his actions he chooses to do. Whether or not he was involved in any of these cases is hard to say, but it's also impossible to rule him out of anything either.

Sadly Nikki has been found deceased.
The victim was located September 28, 1985 in Riverside, Riverside County, California. She was identified by DNA in March 2009, as 16 year-old Nikki Ann Trollinger, missing since September 7, 1985 from Garden Grove, California.

I think if the investigators can solve the Michaela Garecht case, they can probably solve many of these other cases in CA, especially concerning the missing teens listed.

Is it just me or were quite a few teenaged girls going missing in Cali in the 80s, with foul play suspected? I wonder if some of these cases are connected, but I don't know much about any of them, except Ilene's.

I wish more info was able about their cases...sigh. These girls deserve to be remembered and they deserve to have someone looking for them no matter how long it's been.
