The Crown has chosen to proceed by direct indictment in the case against Dominic Decque. The 29 year old is accused of the murder of 25 year old Adrian Snider, whose remains were found in a rural area outside of Grande Prairie in May 2015.

Decque’s brother Patrick is charged with manslaughter and was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday. Tommy Paul has been ordered to stand trial for first degree murder, but that won’t begin until February 2018. Courtney McQuinn has a preliminary hearing set for next May on her accessory after the fact to murder charge.

Courtney McQuinn's hearing will be held August 14 to 16, 2018.

She was charged after the 2015 murder of Adrian Snider.

McQuinn had been scheduled to have a preliminary inquiry earlier this year, but it was put off.

Two men facing murder charges in the case, Tommy Paul and Dominic Decque, are due to stand trial next year. So is a third man, Patrick Decque, who has been charged with manslaughter and accessory to murder.

Decque’s brother Patrick Decque was also initially charged with first or second degree murder, which was later downgraded to manslaughter and accessory to murder. He has a trial scheduled for June 4th to 22nd.

The fourth person charged in the case is Courtney McQuinn, who has a preliminary hearing on her accessory after the fact to murder charge in August.

I really don't get this case.

Do the prosecutors not have enough evidence to refuse the pleas of manslaughter? I'm unfamiliar with Canadian law and I can't find enough MSM information about this case to understand why the manslaughter pleas have been accepted? Someone help!

How is hitting someone in the head 5 times with a pipe and killing them not murder?

Decque Sentenced to Eight Years for Snider Homicide

Dominic Decque has been sentenced to eight years in prison for his role in the death of 25 year old Adrian Snider. Decque plead guilty earlier this year to manslaughter, after having been initially charged with murder.

Crown prosecutor Aisling Ryan asked for a 10 year sentence, while Decque’s lawyer Daryl Royer argued for between 4.5 years and seven. Justice B.A. Browne settled on eight years, based on the planning of the attack, the weapons used, and the significant efforts made to clean up the scene and dispose of the body.

“He should and could have contacted the authorities at a number of stages,” she noted. “He did not.”

She also took into account Decque’s guilty plea, evidence of remorse, and the boot camp program he has completed in remand, as well circumstances of his upbringing.

Tommy Paul Sentenced to 7.5 Years for Snider Homicide

Another man has been sentenced for the homicide of Adrian Snider. Tommy Paul plead guilty to manslaughter earlier this month, and was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison in court in Edmonton Wednesday.

In his sentencing decision, the Journal reports Justice John Gill took into account factors of Paul’s Indigenous background, his guilty plea, remorse, and efforts to save Snider. Gill gave him 53 months credit for time served since his arrest in May 2015, which means he has roughly 3.5 years left to serve.

Patrick Decque has since fired his lawyer due to irreconcilable differences and his manslaughter trial scheduled for this June has been called off. He’ll be appearing in court on June 11th to set a new trial date. Courtney McQuinn, an escort who has been charged with accessory to murder after the fact after allegedly cleaning up the murder scene, is due to appear in court this August.

New trial dates set in Grande Prairie murder case
He is facing manslaughter and accessory to murder charges after the 2015 death of Adrian Snider. Snider was beaten to death after he was suspected of stealing from the drug and prostitution ring he worked for.

Decque's trial has been set for November 12 to December 6, 2019.

Patrick Decque has been missing for a bit, apparently.

Nearly three months after a 33-year-old man was last seen in Grande Prairie, Alta., the RCMP are renewing a plea for help to find him.

His disappearance is now being treated as suspicious.

Patrick Decque was last seen in the Pinnacle Ridge neighbourhood of Grande Prairie on May 23, 2019.

On Friday, police said Decque “may have been the victim of foul play” and that the RCMP Major Crimes unit is assisting in the investigation into his disappearance.

I was dating Patrick in 2014 in Grande Prairie. I broke it off with him long before this crime took place and I moved to Edmonton AB. Patrick and I got back together while he was being help in Peace River Correctional Center outside of GP in i believe April of 2017( I grew up in Kamloops and met Patrick in 2007). He was then transferred to Edmonton Remand Center so I would be able to video visit him. The reason for manslaughter is because they didn't set out to kill Adrian (i met him once when Patrick brought him to my condo, he looked scabby and .. i didn't want him in my home, not trying to be rude, but thats how it was)Don's intention wasn't for the guy to die he likely couldn't sustain the beating because of his physical health or condition... the sock in his mouth I dont know Patrick wasn't there when the crime occurred. He was just supposed to get beaten up. But they took it too far or didn't anticipate the weakness of his body. It is sad. Adrian's mother sent some of his ashes to Patrick in prison. Pretty twisted. Anyways if you have any questions if im able to answer them I will.
