MONTREAL — The RCMP says a Quebec teenager who has been missing for three years may have been spotted in British Columbia.

The Mounties say they received a tip that David Fortin was seen playing a guitar in a Richmond supermarket in late January.

Fortin was 14 when he disappeared from the Quebec town of Alma in February 2009.

He left home in the morning to catch his school bus but he never made it".

Sorry 3 posts in a row, but imagine how wonderful if it is this missing young person!

Fortin is described as a Caucasian male, five feet eight inches, 165 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone that may have seen Fortin is asked to call the Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212.

Help spread the word by sharing this age-enhanced photo of missing teen David Fortin on Facebook.

"The similarities that I have noticed with the Missing Young Men of BC:

Healthy Good Looking Men

All have gone missing and no one has seen anything, no sign of a struggle.

No a trace of them has been found, no clothing, no wallets or identification

Many of the men have gone missing late at night, quite often after the bar has closed

Keeping in mind that there have been men that have gone missing that are older than 30 but look much younger"
Great information on that site. I've posted the link in the Highway of Tears sub-forum (Serial Killer forum) in the Myspace, Facebook, Web Resources sticky. Thanks, dotr and watcher9!

I'm sure there are more, but this list is just from http://wenswritings.wordpress.com/2012/02/19/2300-missing-people--in-b-c-canada/ with some other cases I found on WS.

Certainly picks up in 2006/7. With so many already missing this year.

Maybe this uid can be identified now!

VANCOUVER - More than five years after a gruesome discovery of skeletal remains on a local beach, police are turning to technology to help them unravel a murder mystery"

"B.C. major crime Insp. Brendan Fitzpatrick said the man had a “primarily Caucasian kind of appearance,” but investigators can’t rule out if he was of “Middle Eastern or darker complexion” descent.

He said DNA data and dental records have been compared with national and international missing persons reports, with no matches".

Sorry for 'hogging" the airwaves but this link has video and lots more info. about this male uid!

"
The body of the victim, who remains unidentified, was found on the shore of Tower Beach near UBC in October of 2006.

The death was deemed to be suspicious and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team got involved.

It was determined the victim was a man between 25 and 45 years of age, between 5'5" and 5'9" in height and weighing 176 pounds.

He has a distinctive tattoo on his chest area, but only a portion of the tattoo was recognizable.

His race could
not be established due to the condition that his remains were in.
The analysis of the victim's DNA and fingerprints revealed nothing. The release of a composite sketch drawn by a forensic artist in 2007 also did not turn up any results.

Police say the body was found in a sleeping bag in the water and was in a bad state of decomposition. They can't say how long it was in the water for, but they do say the homicide likely took place in the Lower Mainland".

I wonder if the rate of suspicious missing men in BC (not sure how you would measure but I guess missing men/population of men) compares to other regions?

Has BC been lower than other regions and is now "catching up"? Or, is the missing rate now higher than average? Or perhaps people in this recent era are reporting them more often? IDK.

Of course, a higher than average rate would indicate something really wrong was going on.
:notgood:

This is where a Provincial run Central Data Base of all the Missing People by the Provinces all linked would help a lot. I know there are a few missing men from Alberta and Ontario that are the same age group and same circumstances as the Missing Men of BC. It's hard to see the similarites when the missing are all posted on different police Sites, plus there are many people missing that are not even posted on any Police Site. Some people make it in the media as big news and some missing people are just a quick blurb. I think a lot of it has to be if there is anything big going on in the media at the time.

Heartbreaking ~ their irresistible smile makes me sad.
I wish we will bring them back.

Thank you dotr

" Police in Whistler, B.C., have confirmed that a discovery made by a couple Saturday "was in fact the remains of a human."

They say that the couple, who were out for a hike in a wooded area in the Alpine Meadows area, contacted the RCMP detachment in Whistler to report that they had discovered what they believed to be human remains.

In a statement, police said "investigators are unable to determine anything about the deceased that would aid in identification" and that "there is nothing thus far to indicate foul play."

I don't see Wesley Foulds listed anywhere, he disappeared in 2009.

http://www.theprovince.com/news/Pol...tsford+missing+three+years/6249040/story.html

( They released new pics.)

"A witness recalled seeing Foulds driving westbound on the Lougheed Highway, with someone in the passenger seat.

Since that 2011 tip, police haven’t received any more information, but say that any and all information or witness statements are valuable to their investigation.

Police released photos Sunday of Foulds and his truck with the hopes they might trigger a memory.

Anyone with information is asked to phone Abbotsford Police at 604-859-5225 or anonymously to CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

"Sgt. Steve LeClaire of the Whistler RCMP says there is nothing to indicate foul play but they were unable to make any identification due to the state of the remains and lack of light.

"We're not able to tell at this point what the gender or race of the person was. The remains are in a state that are hard to identify, there's been some decomposition and when we left there at approximately 20 minutes after seven it was complete darkness," he said.

The Sea to Sky General Investigation Section have carried out an initial assessment of the scene and forensic experts will continue investigating on Sunday."

As many have posted on the Mike Grefner thread, this uid has been identified.

"A person looking for a lost dog found what they believed to be human remains about 1 p.m. on Wednesday, said Douglass.

The area off of 5th Avenue and Foothills Boulevard was cordoned off by RCMP and the serious crimes and forensic team were called out, confirming the remains were human, said Douglass.

There are other unsolved missing person cases in the northern B.C.

A 28-year-old Burns Lake man was last seen in December, and a 14-year-old man was last seen in Prince George in June 2007.

Magnotta Vancouver connection ‘should and will be looked at,’ say Montreal police
Police still don’t know what role Luka Magnotta played in Vancouver or if there is any connection between the accused grisly killer and any missing men ...

At least one gay man, Filipino Edgar Espiritu Leonardo, was murdered in 2003, during the time Magnotta is believed to have been in Vancouver, and among the unsolved missing men is international student Permadech Tatti, a Thai citizen.
