Greg McArthur - Shortly after the attack, he broke into another Tweed home, only to realize that three men -- a father and two sons -- lived there. He took a few photos, and left.

TimothyAppleby - The constant subtext to this huge package of criminal charges is Col. Williams's extraordinary attention to details in preparing, committing, photographing and making records of his crimes. He even had fallback plans for his camera equipment, should a malfunction occur.

Exactly. He went to 2 fields in Ottawa to burn evidence, when he "ran out of space". They found 600 items of underwear etc. upon arrest, which he was going to put to the curb 4 days later, after his arrest.

But the Crown is really pressing the escalation of his crimes. So, it would seem, that they must think he just started doing it, with his first detailed spreadsheet entry that they recovered.

I am a little skeptical, myself.

The question is: "If he destroyed all that evidence when he 'ran out of space', how do they really know when he started?"

Masicotte told cops that she believed the man was between 30 and 40 years. He did not seem big or tall. He did not have gloves on. He did not smell of alcohol. She thought she’d heard his voice before.

Burgess is noting the progression of Williams’s crimes. During the first assault Williams had difficulty controlling the victim. With Massicotte he had used plastic ties.

CBC:
Amber Hildebrandt reports: "The Crown is describing Williams' filing system for the folders he kept on each b&e. For example, in 44/84 - 44 represents the house. Each unique house gets a number. This was the 44th house he'd entered, and the 84th break-in according to his records."

TimothyAppleby - Crime-scene photos are on the screen. Col. Williams gives a brief sidelong glance at them, as he often does. But only for a moment.

BBM: He shouldn't even be allowed to see them, IMO.

I respectfully disagree. How could they prevent him, for one thing? He needs to be there. Any humiliation he gets from seeing them displayed in front of one and all is nothing compared to that of the victims. I doubt he would be aroused from them under the current circumstances. And even if he is, there would be no relief for him, only frustration. I say, let him look.

Greg McArthur - During the Nov. 17 break-in he stole more than 40 pieces of clothing, a pornographic movie, a sex toy and a cat.

The homeowner said he left a message for the homeowner on their computer:

"Go ahead and call the police. I want to show the judge your really big dildos." He also took a photo of the message.

10:36
TimothyAppleby - And the Belleville police knew nothing about the two sex assaults in Tweed in September, 2009, the woman who was burgled has said.

Greg McArthur - Mr. Burgess is now warning the court about how disturbing the facts are surrounding the murder of Marie-France Comeau. They won't be entering into evidence any of the photos or videos of the murders, both of which were taken by the colonel, but oral descriptions of the murder will be alarming nonetheless. 10:38

Greg McArthur - Crown attorney Lee Burgess says the note was another sign of his progression.

I assume they are basing it on all the catologuing they found on his actual computer, pictures, description etc. - though this is JMO

Videos:

Prosecutor Burgess has -- certainly to the relief of family if not everyone in court -- announced he has no intention of playing any of the videos of Williams rape and murder of his two victims.

Even so, he warns, the mere description of what happened will still be "extremely disturbing".

Some family members have left court during a short court break and it is uncertain if they plan to return.

Break. Next the break and enter of Marie France Comeau’s house and her murder.

Burgess says that there will be a photograph presentation of photos taken by police, but none of the photos that Williams took.

“We appreciate what has been read has been very disturbing,” Burgess says. What’s next is going to be “extremely disturbing. … We will tell the court in soime detail what is contained in those photographs. Those details are in and of themselves very disturbing without any visual representation being required.”

[10:33 AM]

Next counts. During the break and enter Williams took lingerie and a sex toy. The occupant noticed items missing, was fearful enough to sleep at friend’s house. When she returned the next day she noticed more had been stolen. There was a note encouraging her to call the police because, Williams wrote, he wanted to show the judge her sex toys.

We’re learning that this break and enter was the second of the night. Earlier he had gone to Marie France Comeau’s, his first murder victim.

No mention of a cat at Macleans. A mistake? A stuffed animal, not a live one? Curious!

BBM: The SOB is feeling SICK????

NO KIDDING.

:furious::furious::furious::furious:

It will be interesting to read the statement of facts tomorrow to see whether or not it was stuffed. Isn't he blaming all of this on the loss of his own cat? Maybe he did steal her pet as a replacement for his own - after reading yesterday's evidence against him, there is not one thing that this man could do or say that would surprise me.
