CANADA Canada - Mission, BC, WhtFem 788UFBC, 20-40, Pickton victim, Feb'95

Have you heard anything from the detectives Carl? I wonder if they have pursued this lead.

No, I haven't. I know from other Canada cases that I've tried to follow-up on, they tend not to be too forthcoming with that info. I haven't called back for any updates on this one.

What about Wendy Susan Byron?

Went Missing 1978
Age: 24
height: 5'5
Location: Glendora, Los Angeles

in 1985 she would have been 31 and would have been 40 in 1994.

Jane Doe
Estimated age: 20-40
Date of death: Between 1985-1995
Location: Mission, British Columbia

It would be a two day drive to get to BC, and if her car was found at the airport could she have traveled to Canada?

No updates. I couldn't find any articles more recent than the 2011 articles already posted. Her Doenet page is still active but doesn't seem to have been updated and I couldn't find her on the RCMP for BC page.

Her DNA profile was provided to every laboratory in Canada, and the composite drawings shared with Interpol’s 188 member countries for comparison with their missing person files.

Here is what investigators have been able to determine about Jane Doe:

Caucasian female, 20 to 40 years old.
Death would have been sometime between about 1985 and 1995.
Missing teeth in the upper right portion of her jaw, may have worn dentures.

It is possible that this woman’s family does not know that she is missing, or may be under the mistaken belief that she was reported missing and there is a file open, the Mounties said. As well, the release cautioned, the hair, nose, lips and jaw are only an approximation.

No top teeth, which is consistent with police's findings.
However, went missing with her car, which has not be found either.

Last seen in BC in 1985, but family in the US lost contact in 1982. Not sure

Similarities with the sketch, and traveling to Vancouver.
Not my strongest match

One of the Vancouver East Side missing women. But I'm not sure she looks like the sketch

Listed as native, but could be easily mistaken for a Caucasian female

FWIW...

Marlene was 25 and living in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside when she disappeared. She was struggling with addiction and was occasionally homeless. Despite her sister’s repeated calls to police, a formal missing persons report would not be filed until 2002, after officers showed up at Marlene’s home with news about a man suspected of murdering women and hiding their bodies on his pig farm.

Interesting !! And
A few years ago, B.C. RCMP officers contacted Valerie to tell her the case had been closed.
Same article.

Also, the murderer was Pickton. Humm, interesting ! Then, the Mounties closed the file.
Even more interesting !!

I think that she is my best match.

Maybe you can push the Mounties 🤮

White female, age range 20-40.
Deceased as early as 1985, or as late as 1995.
Skull found in 1995, Mission, BC (further remains collected, 2002)

- Likely not in the ditch more than a couple of weeks, but might have been moved there; only the skull was found in Mission. Further bones found at the Pickton pig farm were matched through the DNA database during the Pickton investigation, 2002 (heel and rib). (Serial killer Pickton was charged with Jane Doe's murder, but not convicted.)

Composite is based on a partial skull (right half), missing the mandible.

Jane Doe had teeth removed from her upper right jaw at different times before her death, and she may have worn dentures.

Actually, the Mounties & police rarely work together in cases of MP.

It won't harm to submit

[off topic] time for going back to sleep ! [/off topic]

There's also a minor mention of Jane Doe in this recent update in the Pickton case (the last picture in the slide):
Clothing, jewelry, purses: RCMP ask court about disposal of evidence in Robert Pickton case - Vancouver Island Free Daily

Photos: These are some of Vancouver's missing women

''True Crime Byline podcast, reporter Lori Culbert looks back at the investigation into missing women in Vancouver, which eventually led to the arrest and conviction of Robert Pickton for six murders. In this photo gallery, we look at many of the women who went missing from Vancouver between 1978-2001.''''

True Crime Byline: Police still on hunt for Robert Pickton-linked Jane Doe's real name
While it's great that Mission Jane Doe's case has been highlighted in a podcast, it's also quite telling that the article itself is a rerun that was first published in 2011, which pretty much reinforces what I wrote in post #36.

The Vancouver True Crime podcast also did an episode on Jane Doe

*** POST MORTEM IN LINK! ***
(it's a skull pic that also shows in the thumbnail, so I put the URL behind a spoiler)

The woman’s DNA profile has been provided to every lab across Canada and, along with the composite drawings, has been shared with Interpol and its 188 member countries.

In August 2002, bones recovered during the search of Pickton's farm in Port Coquitlam were confirmed to be genetically linked to the partial skull.

Here is what investigators have been able to determine about Jane Doe:
- Caucasian female, 20 to 40 years old.
- Death would have been sometime between about 1985 and 1995.
- Missing teeth in the upper right portion of her jaw, may have worn dentures.
- It is believed her skull was cut in half with a power saw.
