Casey's Diary Entry for June 21st & Missing Pages #2

I think the defense is trying to infer that the writing in the diary refers to KC's breaking up with this boyfriend, and they want him to testify as to the timeframe to show that she was not implying any guilt in the "diary".
 
the part that states " I hope the end justifies the means"


just cannot be attributed to the falling out of a boyfriend, what sense would that make.


is this not usually a statement one would use when hoping something you HAD DONE that might seem off at the time,, eventually works out ok. meaning you've put yourself out there now i hope it doesnt blow up in my face

seems like shes waiting to see if she has been CAUGHT

i cannot believe that this was written before anything happened to her baby and tbh i dont care what any boyfriend says there is no way this has anything to do with boyfriends, high school or any other crapola they want to throw out there... jmo

oh and I dont have any regrets just a bit worried .. contradiction in terms really, if you have no regrets then why are you worried oh im confused.com

I agree, LG, that that is probably the reason Baez added Kenneth D. to the witness list. But, IMO, it doesn't really matter if the ghostwriting mentioning "Kenneth" was written in 2005, or any other date, for that matter. It still doesn't prove the June 21 diary entry about being happier than she has been in a long time was NOT written in 2008, right after she killed Caylee. The ghostwriting could have been the last entry she wrote at that time and did not write in the diary again until she had something BIG in her life to write about, June 21, 2008.

Kenneth D. was apparently not a "new friend" KC was referring to in that entry since she went to high school with him. It is a fact that diary was not purchased before 2004 (the same year, BTW, that KC should have graduated). So the '03 was written by whomever on that diary for some purpose. I believe it was written to throw off the time frame, but I can't exactly nail down my thoughts on that too much more than that at this time.

I still believe, however, and will probably always believe, that the June 21 entry was written in 2008, and the new friends KC was referencing is TL and people she met through, and because of, him.

IMO, the defense doesn't really accomplish much by putting KD on the stand. So they prove the "Kenneth" referenced in the ghostwriting was likely written in 2005 (or if Baez has his way, 2003). The State can certainly still put in the minds of the jurors that there is a possibility the diary entry was written in 2008, if they choose to go that route.

Is there still a chance they may be able to date anything relating to the diary to 2008?

ETA: June 20 and 21, 2008 is when KC was partying it up at Fusian.... she was a happy girl.

I totally agree with you that the Ghostwriting entry does not prove the June 21 entry...

She mentions making New Friends...I agree..KD is NOT a new friend...he is from the PAST.
I also agree she means TL and his group of friends, even Amy..she had only been friends with Amy for a few short months...her OLD friends include Annie and her group from High School

The End Justifies the Means...What is Casey's End?..is it Happiness, her future happiness? What Mean or wrongdoing has she committed in order to achieve this happiness?

I completely agree. I think she's writing about her doubts about offing Caylee, and whether or not she'll get caught, but in the meantime, she's happy enjoying life partying at Fusion with TonE and her new crowd of friends and out of the house (not because she decided to become a mother)... I don't buy the high school garbage either, it was written June 21, 2008 and backdated by someone to say '03 to throw suspicion off.:twocents:

i have just read a post where someone asks if maybe this was written june 21st 2005 just before caylee was born and when i think about it it could well be attributted to her pregnancy

see this is why we should always keep an open mind (quite clearly mines a little tainted):) because if you read this with the pregnancy in mind it reads a little differently..... well I think

The other thing that fits the "end justifies the means" comment is if this was written June 21, 2005, within days after she was "outed" as being pregnant and about the same time she lied to Jesse and told him he was the father.

So she could be saying that she hopes the "end" of getting Jesse to marry her and raise the baby with her (and get her the HECK out of the Anthony house most importantly IMO!!) justifies the "means" of lying to Jesse.

ETA NOTE TO BAEZ: This is way better than your "maybe she decided to stop eating chocolate" argument. If I see it in one of your briefs, however, I will send a printout of this post to Kathi Belich and she will make you look like a :loser:
 
yes thats kinda what i was thinking all the worry and what not throughout the pregnancy now she thinks this will all be worth it freedom, new beginnings etc

its easy to see why your the lawyer and im a housewife its took a while for the penny to drop for me lol

Even though I believe it to be written in 2008 I do have an open mind and will entertain another view point..and your post is a good one angeldust..
With the pregnancy in mind...
Who do you (or anyone else...chime in sleuthers) believe the new friends are that she is describing?
Does it indicate she is happy to be pregnant? even though she has hid it from her parents and brother (well everyone) and has lied to the young man she is dating saying it's his when she knows very well it is not?

Just so you know, I am not being condescending or coming down on you...

The only other thing that is hanging out there would be "I've made new friends that I really like". Because the only friends she apparently had at the beginning of 2005 do not exist, JL, JH, Nanny, Nanny's roommate, Nanny's sister, Nanny's mom. So who were these new friends. Up to this point she had only had contact with her old friends. Also the missing pages could point to dating the June 21st date by the year.

Now if they can date the ink, we should be hearing about that soon. jmo

I understand your question and to clarify if i can cos i dont make sense to myself sometimes i know what im trying to say so here goes

Another poster stated that they thought this could have been attributed to the pregnancy time of 2005 just before caylee was born, so i had a read at it with this in mind it hadnt crossed my mind once that it was the pregnancy she was refering to.

So with that in mind and with casey living in la la land i thought
the end justifying the means could mean she knows shes lied about lots and to jesse but maybe it will be worth it. Its casey were talking about here so she would be justifying to herself it doesnt really matter how it effects others, she will only be thinking about herself.

I also believe she writes these things so her mother will read them. ie im so happy its all out ( well the truth acocording to casey that is) im so looking for ward to the future i have great (imaginary) friends etc

was just looking at this from another perspective but ultimately i believe 2008

hope that made sense :)

New friends as of 6/21/05 would include Jesse. Also, Chris S. said in his 7/30/08 interview that he'd known Casey for "about three years." And Lauren G. said they started "hanging out more" after Casey finally "found out" she was pregnant. And Annie D. said they became closer friends in "2005, 2006." And I think there was another girl who said she was pregnant at the same time as Casey so they were closer at that time?
 
That was great thought to come up with the Jesse/pregnancy theory and kudos to the poster who did.

But...is that something ICA would really write those thoughts about? Since she appeared to be not too impressed with her pregnancy - ie wasn't shouting it out to the world - not sure if I can go down that road.:waitasec:

Maybe it's just a coincidence - but it sure sounds like 2008 material to me.

Although....the friends above were people she already knew, if only in passing from high school.
In contrast, the Ricardo crowd and the Tony crowd were distinctly different-They did not fit into what Annie described as their "core" group of friends. Two or three people described her friendships in the Morales/Lazzaro circles as kind of a big change for KC, old friends knew nothing about new.

She also knew ZFG for three years, right? I wonder if that is coincidental as so much is in this case! :banghead:

Chris and Jesse I think were brand new friends, weren't they? And probably she starting hanging out with their friends as well. I just think she's rotated "friend groups" more than once. Probably has something to do with the fact that she lies to them all the time.

I think the journal entry fits remarkably well for 6/21/08, but also very well for 6/21/05. If I were the SA, I would not attempt to use evidence that is so easily weakened unless I could get the ink dated.

By 6/21/05, she was indeed telling everyone about her pregnancy and acting like it was the happiest thing in the world. Plus a diary is supposed to be for the secret stuff, right? :)

And, of course, the murder was presumably even more secret lol.
