According to the PPD, officers responded to a call for suspicious activity at a storage facility on January 10 in the 1600 block of W 6th Street. A person had reported locating a metal container in a storage unit that was filled with hardened concrete. When the container was unsealed, the remains of a child were found inside.

Police explain that they are also attempting to locate two children as part of this investigation, who were last seen in the summer of 2018.

According to the PPD, Jesus Dominguez and Yesenia Dominguez would now be approximately 10 and 9 years old, respectively, and are looking to find those children and confirm their safety.

As part of this investigation, Pueblo police are also attempting to locate two children, identified as Jesus Dominguez and Yesenia Dominguez. Police said information indicates that Jesus and Yesenia have not been seen since approximately the summer of 2018.

Yesenia Dominguez

Yesenia was approximately 3 years old when she was last seen, and she would currently be 9 years old. Jesus Dominguez was approximately 5 years old when he was last seen and he would currently be approximately 10 years old

“We need to have the coroner identify those remains. Tell us who they are and maybe possibly the manner of death,” said Franklyn Ortega with the Pueblo Police Department.

“Specifically, we’re trying to find kind of where these kids were at? Who they were with? When they were last seen? All of that information because we’re kind of starting this investigation late,” said

Were Jesus and Yesenia not reported missing until now? Even if it was a family abduction/custody dispute, you'd think a report would still be made. It's very strange that two small children went missing 5 1/2 years ago and nobody has said a word until remains were discovered.

If they had a sibling who was also missing, I feel like they would be included in the report too, since the remains haven't been identified as far as we know. I guess LE could have identified the remains as their sibling but hasn't made it public, but I feel like if that were the case there'd be a more urgent search for Jesus and Yesenia since there'd be even more reason to believe they were harmed. All IMO

The children were last seen in summer 2018, when Yesenia was 3 years old and Jesus was 5 years old. No missing persons reports were ever filed for the children, according to the department.

Mijarez is in custody at the Pueblo Detention Center on $2 million bail.

daddy was still receiving financial aid for the children.

Officers said Minjarez was in a relationship with the senior Dominguez and was living with him in the storage unit. After the couple was evicted from the storage unit, family members clearing out the space discovered the metal container, according to police.
Dominguez's charge of theft of government benefits stems from him allegedly getting assistance while the children were missing. Authorities claim the younger Jesus was five years old at the time of the disappearance, while Yesenia was three.
"He (Dominguez) was applying for benefits and no one could account for the kids. He was receiving assistance for the kids at the time they were missing," said Pueblo Police Sgt. Frank Ortega, per CBS News.
