So why has he shaved? Do they think making him look all neat and tidy will make the jury look at him differently? 'Look at our client. He's sane. He wasn't when he committed the shooting - poor soul'. Ugh!!

If he is unshaved and unkept he would fit their thought that he is mental---However, I don't think you can cover up evil with a shave--

Had to reboot before I could get streams to work!
Yes! Everything is done on purpose in a trial, esp. 'tricks' by the defense. It was important to them for him to be clean shaven young man look for their case! (to evoke sympathy, IMO)

Are they going over all two thousand plus pages.....the jury will be lost for sure.
