CO - Jessica Ridgeway, *no discussion*: Timeline and Media thread

I really think that the attack on the woman in Aurora last night, the jogger and Jessica Ridgeway are all connected. I mean, there is a person out there with a very toxic chemical that he either made or stole from a chemical lab. I believe that the police should be checking out lab techs in a local college. Just a thought.

LE says related:

"But Westminster Police say Monday about 1:15 p.m., a man attacked a 22-year-old woman as she jogged along the trail. Police say she passed the suspect once, as he walked the opposite way.

But when she looped around again, he was walking in the same direction and grabbed her as she ran by. She told police the suspect tried to put a cloth over her face, with some kind of chemical on it. She managed to fight him off and called 911 as he ran away."

Unknown if related, but witness description is similar, and description of second male in car is similar:

"Officers searched the area, talking with residents. They found a woman, who did not see the Monday incident, but who reported that in the past few weeks she has noticed a green Chevrolet Blazer in the area watching the kids at the bus stop.

The witness described the driver in the prior incidents as a white man, about 35 to 40 years old, with brown hair who stands about 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall. The man sometimes has a beard and other times is clean-shaven."

Mom says man almost kidnapped son near Ketner Lake in Westminster

October 19, 2012

WESTMINSTER, Colo. — Less than three weeks before a kidnapping attempt on the Ketner Lake jogging trail, a Westminster mother says a man with a similar description grabbed her son, and then fled when the boy’s sister screamed for help.
That happened May 10 on a popular trail near Church Ranch Blvd. and U.S. Highway 36.
This information as police were already looking into whether the attempted kidnapping of a woman at Ketner Lake during Memorial Day weekend could have any connection to the Jessica Ridgeway abduction and murder.

10/23/2012 9:41 am EDT Updated: 10/23/2012 10:17 am EDT

Excerpt: "We are able to say that there is a direct connection between the attempted abduction at Ketner Lake that occurred during the Memorial Day weekend and the Jessica Ridgeway investigation," Westminster police investigator Trevor Materasso said at a news conference.

Materasso would not say what the link is nor would he say if the police believe that suspects in both cases are the same person. "We're limited beyond that to talk in detail or give specifics of how those two connections are made," Materasso said."
