Pasco relatives pray for miracle as search continues for missing Colorado mother
Family of a Colorado mother missing since Thanksgiving want folks in Eastern Washington to be on the lookout, even as they try to figure out the circumstances around her disappearance.

They say it's a long shot, but she has family in Soap Lake, Wash. and authorities say her phone last pinged, or sent a signal, from an area near Gooding, Idaho.

Cousin JG of Pasco says they're grasping at straws, but right now that's all they have to go on. She says Kelsey's mom and brother are in Woodland Park searching for the 29-year-old mother.

"They're a very close-knit family. That's why I don't believe she'd just..." Garretson paused mid-sentence to wipe away tears. "She's got to see people are looking for her. She wouldn't put them through that."

Her cousin says taking off isn't like her, that's why they're so worried.

"There's no reason to think she intentionally is gone," said her cousin.

'Someone knows where she is:' Mother missing out of Woodland Park since Thanksgiving
Cheryl Berreth first reported her daughter, Kelsey Berreth, missing on Dec. 2, according to Woodland Park Police Chief Miles De Young. She was last seen in surveillance video shopping at a Safeway with her daughter on Nov. 22, and exchanged her child with her fiance Patrick that same day.

De Young said a search of her home and vehicles yielded no clues as to her whereabouts, and that at this point, Berreth’s fiance has been cooperative with the investigation.

Cheryl Berreth asked that the public share information about her disappearance via an official Facebook page set up by the family.

“Don’t use it as a place to speculate, interrogate or to dog the administrators,” Cheryl Berreth said.

Kelsey Berreth Missing: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com
There is a Facebook page devoted to finding Kelsey Berreth. The young mother’s disappearance has raised great concern because her cell phone pinged 700 miles away from where she was last seen, according to Fox News. In addition, her belongings were left behind, and her family says it’s not like Kelsey to disappear, especially because she has a very young daughter.

However, authorities have stopped short of saying they think foul play is involved.

Cheryl Berreth, Kelsey’s mother, was at the press conference. “She’s not the kind that runs off. This is completely out of character…Kelsey is reliable, considerate and honest,” she said. “…Like I said, she doesn’t run off and someone knows where she is at. Kelsey, we just want you home…and we won’t quit looking.”

Missing Woodland Park mother requested time off work
Tuesday, we spoke with Dan Corsentino, a private investigator, former Pueblo County Sheriff and former Fountain Police Chief. Corsentino says there are a lot of unanswered questions about what happened to Kelsey Berreth.

"There is obviously a big question mark why there wasn't an immediate missing report that was filed," he said.

Monday, Woodland Park Police Chief Miles De Young said Berreth sent a message to her employer saying she wouldn't be coming in the following week. De Young didn't specify what date that message was sent but said it was after she "went missing."

Berreth's fiancé, Patrick Frazee, said he hadn't heard from her since Nov. 25, but last saw her when he took their daughter on the 22nd. Their daughter is still with Patrick, police said.

Speculation echoed at Monday's news conference. Several reporters asking about Berreth's fiancée, who wasn't present but who police say is cooperating.

Corsentino warns - not to convict him just yet.

"It doesn't mean he's guilty by not showing up," said Corsentino. "He doesn't want to become a suspect in the public's eye and be prejudged."

New information released on case of missing mother whose phone was last pinged in Idaho | East Idaho News
Police contacted Berreth’s fiancé, Patrick Frazee, who said Berreth dropped off their daughter at his home on Nov. 22. The last time he says he heard from her was Nov. 25 and their child is still in his custody, according to detectives.

Berreth works as a flight instructor at Doss Aviation, in Pueblo, Colorado. Employees told police they got a text message from her on Nov. 25 saying she would not be in to work for the next week. Officers say there is no indication that a plane is involved in her disappearance.

“She is not the kind that runs off,” an emotional Cheryl Berreth said during the news conference. “This is completely out of character. She loves her God, her family, friends and her job. She is reliable, considerate and honest. Like I said – she doesn’t run off and someone knows where she is at.”

When police were asked why Frazee was not at Monday’s news conference, De Young said he was invited but “you would have to ask him why he is not here.” De Young did say Frazee is being cooperative with law enforcement.

Investigators have not searched Frazee’s home and he has not been named as a suspect or person of interest. Police say Berreth and Frazee are engaged but they have never lived together and do not share a home.

MISSING: Surveillance footage of missing Woodland Park mom released
kelsey+berreth+surv+w+pic.jpg

"Officers were able to contact her place of employment at Doss Aviation in Pueblo, Colorado and were advised that they had received a text from Kelsey's phone on the 25th of November stating she would not be into work the following week," said Woodland Park Police Chief Miles DeYoung.

Cheryl Berreth contacted her daughter's fiance, Patrick Frazee, who said Nov. 25 was also the last day he had received a message from her phone.

On that date, Berreth's phone pinged near Gooding, Idaho, 800 miles from Woodland Park.

Prior to that meeting, Berreth was caught on surveillance at the Woodland Park Safeway, the last confirmed sighting.

"We’ve reviewed video from the local Safeway grocery store and it showed Kelsey shopping with her daughter Kaleigh on November 22 at about 12:27 p.m. That’s the last time Kelsey was seen," DeYoung said.

DeYoung said Frazee was cooperating with the investigation but declined to speak at the news conference Monday. He wouldn't speak as to why Frazee never reported his fiance missing.

"Why did Patrick not report her missing? That's a question you'd have to ask Patrick," was all DeYoung would say on the matter at Monday's news conference.

Cheryl Berreth said her daughter was not the type to leave without telling anyone.

When cops searched her home, her car and purse were still there, as were some cold cinnamon rolls.

Frazee also received a text from his fiancee’s phone Nov. 25, De Young said. Berreth’s phone last pinged on Nov. 25 in Idaho, where her mother lives.

Berreth’s mother, Cheryl, said her daughter isn’t “the kind that just runs off.”

“This is completely out of character,” she told reporters. “Kelsey loves her dog, she loves her family and friends and she loves her job.

“She’s reliable, considerate and honest. She doesn’t run off and somebody knows where she is.”
