It wasn't accidentally released. The family launched it. It was supposed to hover at 20 feet, but it was launched deliberately and not accidentally released. The family videotaped the whole thing.

I posted the video of them launching the balloon and yes it was deliberate.

Yes I heard the 911 call. From the 911 call, it might sound like the balloon flew away accidentally, but on video they launched it. Maybe he believed the tether was supposed to hold it at 20 feet? By the way, the little boy isn't on tape, so why would the brother supposedly say he got inside?

And to call media first "for the helicopter" - well LE has access to delegate choppers and all other responders. I call big fat BS.

On Anderson Copper they showed the "family video" where the kid puts his face right in the camera and says, "Im gonna get INSIDE." OK so go where you're not supposed to go and be sure to say it loud and clear with your face smashed right up in the camera. RIGHT; GOT IT.

It reminds me of the staged Cummings' scene where Misty "seen three" and the door was, "bricked wide open." = staged. GMAB.

"In a posting typical of many found on an array of Web sites, one person commented on the Denver Post site: 'Clearly a hoax. The kid said he had all of his toys and snacks up there with him in the attic. Now how would he have that if he accidentally released the balloon and then ran up there to hide? I really hope something is done about this.' "

OMG! I just saw the interview with these people on tv. Those three boys look like urchins. They're way too skinny, pale, growing out unkempt hair, big necked plain old t shirts, ugly old faded pants, and they kept closing their eyes like they wanted to hide and disappear. The one leaning on his mother looked ill and ready to faint or something. Totally disgusting. The dad was the only one dressed decently and he acts like a fast talking shyster. What if these kids are being neglected and abused? I feel horrible for them, especially the oldest. He looked awful, unhappy, and ill in another clip they showed of him.

The kid couldn't have possibly accidentally released the balloon. The tape shows the balloon was deliberately launched by the family. There is even a countdown (3, 2, 1). Apparently they expected it to hover, but it was deliberately launched, and the kid was nowhere to be seen on the tape.

I watched this yesterday and hoped for the boys safety. Now....I'm glad he's safe but his parents need to be forced to empty portapotties for about 20 years to pay for it. Too hinky....they need to pay and CPS definitely needs to look. I hope that's not too rude, I certainly don't want to get in trouble but geeze, a lot of people were freaking out, planes were diverted, they need to pay. What else goes on in that house????

WOW is this freak a control freak? Something seems oh so wrong in this family. Did anyone notice the mother NEVER responded to Wolf's questions at all, and wringed her hands the entire interview? I'll tell you why I have a problem txsvicki, first of all the parents were there for the launch. Wouldn't they want to have Falcon there to see it? You could hear kids in the background. They watched it go up, second the father said that the attic was Falcons favorite hiding place. Maybe it's just me, but I would have looked there first.

She looked a little like she might suffer from battered wife syndrome. The lifestyle they live, it seems they move a lot and leave bills behind. I hope she takes the boys and leaves this is her opportunity. I think she would find herself and stop all this nonsense without him.

I think the dad is smart enough to know how much helium it would take to have this thing hover at 20 feet. For him to be surprised that it rose 3,000+ feet doesn't make sense to me.

If there was a panel through which Falcon had allegedly accessed the basket area (not the balloon itself), why did the rescuers use a pocket knife to cut into the cardboard bottom?

Just after the guy is talking about them using pitchforks and shovels to deflate the balloon. About 1/2 of way ... sorry but it's not showing any timer for me.


If tethered properly, it was supposed to float 20 feet above their house. I thought Richard said that the mom didn't tie the tethers correctly?

I would like to see if the kid would be actually able to get up there without help. Seem like it would take some upper body strength. Also, what is he going to step on? There appears to be a piece of plywood blocking the box he is trying to step on. If he actually got up there without help, did the family not know he could do that? The mother said they searched for the kid. Why didn't they search the attic where he was? Police said they didn't look where the kid was hiding because it didn't appear to be accessible. Did the family know he would be able to get in there?
