CO CO - Stephanie Drnovsek, 27, Lakewood, 5 Sep 1984

Almost a month passed now...

Could there be any reason why Doe net new submission might not be processed apart from that it was sent from overseas? Or is it usually that long to process it? I have not received any confirmation or any update about it since my submission on 18th of May. Should I submit again? Namus update seems to be at standstill too :banghead:.

The database Namus is not updated for many cases, sad!

Heckel or Henckel? That is new! I wonder who's Surname this is. Boyfriend? Previous marriage? Parent? It doesn't sound familiar, but it has been a while since I looked at this case.

Eta: it is not her mother's maiden name from what I can tell from the obit

if she is in witness protection would she still be a missing person or would they get rid of your file

No, she would not be listed. There is zero indication that there was any reason for her to get witness protection. From little information known however everything points that it was someone close to her who cause her demise ...

Details of Disappearance

Drnovsek was last seen leaving her residence in the 10600 block of west Virginia Avenue, near south Kipling Street, in Lakewood, Colorado on September 5, 1984. She was driving her live-in boyfriend's vehicle at the time. She has never been heard from again. On September 22, her boyfriend's vehicle was found stripped and abandoned at Colorado Boulevard and Mexico Avenue in Denver, Colorado.

Drnovsek's boyfriend didn't report her missing until September 24, nineteen days after her disappearance and two days after her vehicle was located. It's uncharacteristic of her to be out of touch without warning and foul play is suspected in her disappearance, which remains unsolved.

Just to add, exact location where her bf stripped car was found is new - Colorado Boulevard and Mexico Avenue in Denver.

Also, original spelling of her surname Drnovsek is actually Drnovšek and has Eastern European origin.

as easy as it is now days with social media to create a missing person page on FB or read...not much out there on this case maybe she is in hiding and has changed her name ..that could be why someone close to her hasn't posted looking for her on those sites and it took so long for someone to find a picture of her .. could be she had to go into hiding and changed her name out of fear of something

There are unfortunately million cases out there which are under reported or not reported at all for whatever reasons and many cases of missing without any photos too.

In the case where car is found totally stripped and only then she is reported missing (by owner of the car, her bf, and around 20 days after the fact of her last sighting) I, in my humble opinion, have zero doubt that she is NOT hiding but rather different fate have befallen her.
