Honestly, where do people find the time for all these affairs, it isn't any wonder his business failed.

aha.. Gerard was a bit nervous that Candace hadnt seemed to grasp the significance of his story.. she didnt roll over and had the nerve to actually look at his face with a medical eye and not a worshipping eye.. So. OFF to another doctor.. yes, he is busy this Saturday, wife missing, kids in tatters, still the body hasnt been found * Gerards Million Dollar Payoff*.. wont be long now, but time to fit in another medical opinion....

he had time before Canaces appointment to ring Toni, naturally. Just to let her know that the police might,. just might , er. .drop around. .. .. might ask about her and him, um, and...

Dr Beavan was so disturbed by Gerards breezy manner, ( he tried to chat her up and advise her on buying a house ) in the light of the circumstances he outlined to her, wife missing, police everywhere, that she contacted her medical indemnity service the minute he left, and then made detailed notes of the encounter, just in case..

Under any other circumstances, would a grown man go to not one but two doctors for a razor scratch ?? What a wuss

Thinking about it a bit more, a separation and divorce at the time would have been made GBC's situation worse for him. Allison may not have known the full extent of the debts though she knew things were very tight as she was trying to save money eg the life insurance premiums.

Had they separated, Allison would likely have got a lawyer to give her some advice and then GBC would have had to deal with disclosing all the financial details and would have had outsiders scrutinising his business records. I get the feeling he didn't like giving people information, he didn't disclose info to people he borrowed money from or let join into the business. So a separation would have just made the situation worse and been even more pressure on him. He wouldn't have been able to afford lawyers anyway and he knew that.

He was hoping for an injection of a large amount of capital to pay his pressing debts perhaps until he could sell the business. That is why he asked Bruce Flegg for $400,000 and was in tears when Sue Heath said Bruce wouldn't lend it to him. He was desperate. He needed money and way more than he could ask his family for.

So divorce would not have been something that he wanted at the time, it was the least of his problems. He just had to keep being a "good husband", spending 15 mins a night talking about their marriage, go to counselling, show Allison his texts etc. all while trying to keep Toni at bay and his creditors off his back. The trouble was the date for payment of the large debts was approaching.

Dr Kumar was told by Baden-Clay that scratches on face were from razor, marks on chest from an ''itch'' and others on neck from caterpillar.

Imagine how chocka block the drs surgeries and emergency departments would be if every man went to see a doctor when they cut themselves shaving! Oh the collective blood letting of thousands and thousands of chins!:what:

Let's pretend for a second that they actually were shaving wounds. Who would go to the doctors to have them looked at when everyone else is madly trying to find your wife? IMO any innocent person wouldn't give a fig about the scratches at a time like that.

Exactly, if i cut myself shaving, I give myself an uppercut for being so tardy

Old Gerry-atric is quite the big girls blouse

Wasn't the reason he told the doctors that he was seeing them was because the police asked him to get his scratches documented. It wasn't that he was actually seeking any treatment. The police deny they asked him to do this and why would they say that. As long as they documented his injuries that's all they would have cared about.

10.07am: A second doctor has told of a series of explanations Gerard Baden-Clay provided when he went to see her about scratches on his face, neck and body.

After visiting a doctor in Kenmore the morning after he reported his wife missing, Baden-Clay went to see a second doctor at 4.30pm in Taringa.

Dr Renu Kumar said she was told by Baden-Clay that he had cut himself shaving with an old razor.

The court heard she queried scratch marks on his chest, wondering whether the direction of the scratches meant they could be self-inflicted.

''Why can't you scratch yourself in the sternum?'' defence barrister Peter Davis asked.

''It's easily reachable by both hands.''

Dr Kumar said it was possible.

''I was concerned about the direction of the scratches,'' she said.

''I suppose when you are scratching with your own hand it's more of an arch.

''So that's what I was clarifying.''
