All his interviews just completely amaze me. I can never get over it! I am sure his plethora forthcoming interviews on FB and MSM and Tricia's True Crime Radio have been helpful to LE. Thank god! I wish some other people in other cases would go blahblahblah like he does.

He has given us lots of info to discuss for months.
Justice for Dylan!

Teams searching in Vallecito again
Times staff report
Oct 18, 2013

Search teams are working in the Vallecito area again this week, looking for any evidence in the disappearance and murder of Dylan Redwine almost a year ago.

Redwine, who was 13 at the time, disappeared before Thanksgiving while visiting his father, Mark Redwine. A former resident of Bayfield, he had moved with his mother to the Colorado Springs area in the summer of 2012.

Update Friday morning: A sheriff's office spokesman said this week's search consists of a few dog dog teams and their handlers who are going over the area again. A larger planned search was cancelled because of early snowfall. No new information has been found, said Lt. Dan Bender of the La Plata County Sheriff's office.

During Redwine search, weapon discharges after falling to ground

By Jim Haug Herald staff writer Oct 18,2013

About seven miles up Middle Mountain Road, La Plata County Sheriff Office investigators conducted a routine search Friday related to the death of Dylan Redwine. Investigators said the search was not related to any new leads.

Tom Cowing, investigator with the La Plata County Sheriff’s Office, suffered a “non-life-threatening injury” Friday after being accidentally shot in the leg during a search related to Dylan Redwine north of Vallecito Reservoir.

The handgun fell out of his car and bounced on the ground, said La Plata County Sheriff’s spokesman Dan Bender.

"Mark Redwine's vision of SWAT officers circling him on an abandoned Denver street earlier this month was partly an illusion triggered by bad vision and a "pararnoid" manifestation driven by blame-seeking cops and finger-pointing neighbors in his "hater-hood," he says."

"The latest search warrant was served Feb. 5. They took his Dodge pickup. It didn't make sense to him because when he picked up Dylan at the Durango airport on the evening of Nov. 18, he was driving his Chevy pickup, he said."

Dylan Redwine death subject of cold case blog
The Durango Herald
The tragic story of 13-year-old Dylan Redwine, which made national headlines, was recently the subject of The Denver Post's Cold Case Blog.

No real updates other than a profile of the writer doing the blog, but it's encouraging that folks are still working to find closure of what happened to Dylan.

What are your thoughts about how the judge arrived at his decision? It seems like Elaine's concerns might have been valid, so it is perplexing.

Dylan Redwine's remains discovered 1 year ago today

DENVER – On a hot summer day one year ago, investigators gathered members of the press outside the La Plata County Sheriff's Department to share the news: Some remains of Dylan Redwine had been found on a mountain in Vallecito.

Having covered Dylan Redwine's disappearance from the beginning, I had been tipped off in advance about what was going to be discussed at the news conference. Yet, even with the warning, hearing those words come from La Plata County Sheriff's Spokesman Den Bender's mouth, left a pit not just in my stomach – but in the stomachs of every other reporter in attendance.

Many of us had spent months getting to know the residents of Bayfield and Vallecito. To us, they weren't strangers – they had become friends and family.

Snipped from the above link:

In fact, the La Plata County Sheriff's Department told me on Monday investigators were back out on Middle Mountain last week (the mountain where Dylan's remains were found) searching for any new clues. They figured new vegetation pushing through the area might reveal some more details.

The Sheriff's Department said seven or eight investigators had worked on the case that week, and on a day-to-day basis, there are about two or three investigators following up on the case.

Marine vet turns to fighting cancer
Despite illness, Bayfield woman still advocating for justice in teen case
By Melanie Brubaker Mazur
Pine River Times Editor Article Last Updated: Sunday, November 09, 2014 9:07pm

Anybody who knows Denise Hess agrees she’s a fighter.

The mother of three in Bayfield is known for being a relentless advocate in the search for her friend’s son, Dylan Redwine. Even after part of his skeletal remains were found, she has worked to keep the case, now a murder investigation, in the public spotlight.

She attributes part of that take-charge attitude to her service in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1985 to 1988, when she was a small-arms weapons instructor at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.

She also has turned that fighting spirit toward her own case – taking charge of her Stage IV colo-rectal cancer diagnosed in June 2013.
