It really was a lovely rally. A lot of people showed up and it was peaceful. I even enjoyed Al Sharpton for once? I thought it was admiral that he showed up even though his mother died the same day. A lot of preaching about how it's not about race and they are just angry at the Sanford Police... which I don't blame them? All in all, it was really nice to watch.

I hope this helps to clear up some of the confusion about Tracy Martin saying it wasn't Tray's voice on the 911 tapes.

Police also said that Trayvon's father, Tracy Martin, told them the voice pleading for help was not Trayvon. The family claims the police are lying, and pointed out that once the audio quality was cleaned up the father said that the voice did indeed belong to his son.

The rallies have all been peaceful and, iirc, there were something like 30 thousand people at that one so that says a lot. So I don't understand any talk about riots and calling for riots.

Before this, all I have heard is what the mother said. A mother knows her child's voice. There is no denying that, IMO.

Correct, but initially when LE played the tapes he did not think it was his son. I think the argument is that posters are saying other posters are lying and that their links are bs. That is incorrect. Msm did report it. But I think we all agree that once the audio was cleaned up dad then recognized it as his son.

With all due respect, Trayvon is not a man. He is a child, he turned 17 years old 2 weeks ago.

Many look at 17 year olds as young men and women. I doubt it's offensive to them, likely just the opposite. This argument keeps coming up and I am curious, why is it important that he be called a child?

I do it purposefully. Because I give respect to victims and on websleuths, Trayvon is a victim. Further, IMO, Zimmerman is a cold-blooded, pre-meditated murderer. I believe he totally lied about Trayvon looking like he was on drugs, approaching Zimmerman, reaching into his waist band and casing houses. I believe he lied so he would have an excuse to use his gun.



Anyone who thinks 17 year olds are not kids should try teaching a high school class for a day. They are wriggly puppies. Some may look like adults and a few are more mature than others, but they are babies. My three brothers-in-law prove that and they grew up with a rough home life that forced them to mature faster than average. And yet, they are still silly babies that need care and direction.

Well unlike you with all due respect I'm not convinced Mr. Martin is a victim per se. Is he a victim in the sense he passed away in a mysterious yet tragic incident of that I have no doubt. Which is exactly why I attended the rally at Fort Mellon park and gave a donation. But lets put aside my generosity and focus on the case at hand:

I feel in the end this may well be something far less than what many have tired to make it out to be... Mr. Zimmerman goes to question an unknown individual and that individual chooses to hide his face and evade him. Meanwhile Mr. Martin unfamiliar with the neighborhood sees a stranger staring at him and feels uncomfortable pulls his hoodie up and begins to walk briskly away...From this point it seems like a twist of tragic errors on both parties fault lead to an incident, that could have easily been avoided. As a result of those missteps Mr. Martin lost his life and that's saddening.

I loved how Al Sharpton told the men in the crowd to escort the women and children to their cars once it was over. I thought that was a nice gesture.

It's important to some, I suppose. I've heard him called, child, kid, boy, this is the first time I've seen him referred to as a young man.

I just call him an innocent victim, that works for me.
