Perrine is south of Miami after I-95 ends and become US1 which is heavily traveled to get down to the Keys. Lots of roads very close to the water, deep canals, retention ponds. There are a lot of places he could have gone, west across Alligator Alley, north up I-95, etc.

If he was from Bloomington, IL, the weather in south FL in Feb. would have seemed warm to him. He was driving a convertible and could have had the top down.

I grew up in that area and would frequent Haulover, about 30-40 mins away. I found a decedent from 6/3/1979 Male 20-40 yrs old, 13 miles off Haulover Cut. NamUs UP87957 created 1/12/22. He may have driven into a canal/lake since he's not familiar with the area; but if he ran into foul play, they could've dumped his car in a canal and pushed him off a boat (or accident) near Haulover.
