Identified! FL - Crescent Beach, WhtFem UP3036, 30-50, burr holes in skull, Apr'85 - Mary Alice Pultz

There is no mention of a clavicle fracture in the Crescent Beach Female. I think that would rule Joy out. Do you agree?

I think that there is an unidentified female with a clavicle fracture in FL on Namus but I would have to go through the list again.

I suspect they can't determine more than "adult woman."

The early estimate often gets refined when they get detailed forensic results back. I would say the later estimate is more likely to be accurate. But that's just my opinion.

Which estimate is the latest. Namus says 30-50

I have submitted Robyn 2x via email but have never heard anything. Is it better to call?

I personally have had better luck emailing. If I don't get a response I wait a few weeks and follow up with another email. Some people prefer to call. I guess it just depends on the contact person...

I still think it's Billie Hall....until somebody proves otherwise... Meaning I won't accept her as ruled out until this UID is identified as someone else.
Maybe I just want to really find Billie.....:(

Yes, and since she disappeared with a car, it's possible she wound up in Florida. She's only marginally younger than the 20-40 age range, and went missing in the right time frame. I think she has the same general look.

I think that she is worth a submission. However no one ever responded to my last one. However I will put it in as soon as I can.

I had high hopes that this was Billie but I have to trust the rule out processes.

I think I've managed to not follow up on several possible submissions. I'm sorry, I'll get to those soon.

I see Wendy Huggy has been added to the Namus ruleouts list. She fits the main criteria, but no injuries mentioned. I assume they figure she had time to acquire them in the three years between when she went missing and when the UID was found. So I think you're right not to rule out based on head injury alone.

Here's the current ruleouts list (https://identifyus.org/cases/3036):

Brenda Allen-Szabo 1949 California
Carol Arcuri 1939 Florida
Billie Hall 1960 Maryland
Wendy Huggy 1965 Florida
Patricia McGill 1941 Florida

I was checking out Nellie Flickinger relative to another case: http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/f/flickinger_nellie.html

Nellie had extensive injuries from a motorcycle accident, including surgical hardware of some sort in her leg (unspecified which one). While the UID has broken both ankles, there's no mention of hardware. Also, Nellie was 5'3" while the UID is estimated at 5'7". Too far off to submit?

I think that we should submit any possibilities. Do you think that a list is sufficient or a careful comparison of each? I never heard anything on my previous submission. However a new rule out suggests some activity.

I'd say something in between -- names, pointers to their Namus, Charley, and Doe entries, and maybe a note about similarities.

Considering Florida's track record on checking on submissions, it might be a good idea to submit them to the missing persons side as well.

These are the cases that have been discussed here that have not been located. I am submitting these through the NamUs website. I did notice that there are looking for DNA on Adler who I had submitted some time ago.

Hopefully this will read ok.

Back to the surgical holes from wikipedia:

Trepanation is a treatment used for epidural and subdural hematomas, and for surgical access for certain other neurosurgical procedures, such as intracranial pressure monitoring. Modern surgeons generally use the term craniotomy for this procedure. The removed piece of skull is typically replaced as soon as possible. If the bone is not replaced, then the procedure is considered a craniectomy. Trepanation instruments are now available with diamond-coated rims, which are less traumatic than the classical trephines with sharp teeth. They are smooth to soft tissues and cut only bone.

So it seems likely that she had some head Trama. So I would presume that she was treated in an emergency room.

http://www.news4jax.com/news/detectives-still-trying-to-id-remains-found-on-beach-in-1985/30199474

Cold case detectives with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office are still seeking the public's help in identifying remains found in a Crescent Beach sand dune nearly 30 years ago.

From the images shown on her page, Aleca's teeth don't match up with the UID's at all. This UID has distinctive teeth.

Maybe a crazy idea, But her car was found crashed into a tree. Could this be the car accident?

Robyn Melanie Adler 11326 F Loxahatchee FL

The injuries listed on this UID were healed injuries, ones that occurred some time prior to her death. A car accident occurring a short time before or at the time of death wouldn't allow for healed injuries.

That beach is off the beaten path. Most people who go there are from the Gainesville area where the University of Florida is and from communities east on the route they take.
Highway 26 to Highway 100 or Highway 20, then Highway 207 to Highway 206. Turn right on A1A and go about 1/2 mile to get to the ramp.

People from the Orange Park area go to St. Augustine or Jacksonville Beach. People from Ocala (and Crescent City) go to Flagler or Daytona Beach.

I'm not sure if that's of any help to you or not.
