Circumstances of Disappearance
Mr. Jacques Damidaux left his home and told his loved ones that he was going out of town. It is unknown where he might be going or if he was planning on going alone. Mr. Damidaux has not been seen or heard from since. Note: Mr. Damidaux has been declared deceased by Miami-Dade Courts, due to his disappearance.

I found it odd that Jacques Damidaux is associated with 3 different businesses in Miami in 1986 and 1987.

2 of the companies also list John Carl Mese. John Carl Mese was an accountant he is listed as an agent in one of the above businesses. In 2002 Mese was convicted with 2 other men of a double murder and other crimes. the state asserted that there was evidence that Mese was part of an ongoing criminal conspiracy whose objective was to kidnap and torture wealthy victims until they turned over their assets and then to kill them.

I wonder if Mese played a part in the disappearance of Jacques. Was it Mese who returned the car?

I've submitted the following cases to NamUs.

Jacques Gerard Damidaux was last seen in Miami, FL on October 14, 1988. "He left home after telling his loved ones he was going out of town; he didn't say where he was going or if he was going with anyone else. He has never been heard from again. After he went missing one of his friends returned his car and speculated Damidaux might have gone to the Bahamas."

On October 29, 1988, a decomposing male was "found floating 8-10 miles off the coast of Pinellas County, FL in the Gulf of Mexico with two gunshot wounds. Decedent had chains, 60 pounds of plastic coated barbell weights, and two combination locks secured to him."

Considering the condition of the remain, the two men look very similar. The timeframe aligns for the body to be decomposing. Though, the unidentified appears to have a more narrow chin, and smaller mouth.
