Found Deceased FL - Lynda Meier, 40, Hallandale Beach, 4 June 2010

I liked what LE said in the link above:

"Those that are responsible will be held accountable," vowed Hallandale Police Major Dwayne Flournoy. "And those that assisted those who are responsible will also be held accountable. It may take a little longer, but their day is coming. "

Praying for her mom to be strong :praying:

Seems like a no-brainer. There are likely fingerprints all over the vehicle....clearly the women knew these men.....you don't just hand out "free" money to random strangers. Then there's the people who live in the apartment complex....surely they have enough descriptors they can give to narrow down the field...but, moreover, clearly these guys live nearby or frequently visit.

Police said foul play played a major role in this case?
You think?
What an understatement...:(

Hallandale Beach police say information on the case of Lynda Robin Meier, who suspiciously disappeared more than a year ago, has led them to a canal in northwest Miami-Dade County.

Major Thomas Honan, a police spokesman, said officers with the department and other agencies are searching Monday for Meier’s remains in the area of Douglas Road and Northwest 207th Street.

“The latest developments on the case led us to believe we might find them here,” he said.

An extensive search near a Miami Gardens canal for the remains of a Hallandale Beach woman who disappeared more than a year ago was called off Thursday.

New information led authorities to the Snake Creek canal Monday morning in the hopes they would find the remains of Lynda Meier, who at the age of 40 mysteriously disappeared on the morning of June 4, 2010.

From Monday to Thursday, 30 to 40 officers and firefighters from Hallandale Beach police, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and several other agencies daily scoured a wooded area close to 200 acres with the help of seven specially trained cadaver dogs.

During their hunt, the dogs keyed in on an area roughly 10 yards by 10 yards. Authorities worked on the area for several days. They dug out trees and earth with backhoes in their search for Meier’s remains. Addy Villanueva, an FDLE special agent, said samples of the area were sent to a lab for analysis, but no remains or specific evidence was found.

Hallandale Beach woman's vanishing remains unsolved two years later

Had Lynda Robin Meier not disappeared two years ago this month, the Miami Heat fan from Hallandale Beach likely would have been cheering on the team's appearance in the NBA Finals.

The basketball tourney has been one more reminder of her for family and friends.

"I'm just overwhelmed with grief," Meier's mother, Phylis Meier, said. "Everything reminds me of her. She was very into sports. I miss her. That's all I can say. My heart is in pain."

Meier's unsolved vanishing remains under investigation as a case of foul play — and a reward of up to $75,000 still is being offered for information leading to one or more arrests, police say. Recent investigative efforts include police divers searching a Miami Gardens pond for evidence.
