I couldn't find a thread for this case but thought some might want to follow it. Poor boy! The details in the article make it clear he was being tortured.

I hope family reunification never happens in this case and the kids can be raised by loving relatives who keep them away from their parents or they are adopted by a new great family.

In a 911 call, C. tells dispatchers she's worried about the boy.
"One of the kids is with a lot of bruises on his arms and on his face and the parent is not giving food for him but is giving to the other kids that are with them," she said in the recording sent to CNN by the Orlando Police Department...

I suspect this goes on more than most realize. I think the physical bruises and injuries were the scary part here. These adults had no shame in parading this boy out for everyone to see. As if their abuse justified what a bad child he was.

I read on one news article how he and his sibling were so very happy to be in the care of others. I bet he was so hungry and tired. His poor body had no fuel to grow & go!

We all need to be Ms. Carvahlo. Thank goodness the boy was able to read and advocate for himself, and I am very glad that the police responded quickly.

This waitress is the best ever. JMO wait staff are good at reading individuals or group scenarios.

They were hanging this poor child upside down at home. Obviously beating him senseless. Very brave he responded to #1 all star waitress.

Please have a potato for all of us! That wonderful, sensitive, caring and alert waitress surely saved that boy's life. What an angel on earth!
He was said to be 20 pounds underweight for his age, and they were having him to 30-minute planks??? What torture -- certainly physical, but also mental because the boy knew what would happen to him if he failed.
He was their punching bag; he was the "object" when the stepfather wanted to punch someone else, but he punched the boy because the boy was there and because he could.

Can you imagine how much better that 11-year-old is feeling already? Good food -- a safe place to sleep -- people being nice to him -- let's hope. A new world for him already.

And praise and thanks to his angel on earth in Mrs. Potato!

This waitress is such a hero for giving him the note in the moment when his parents couldn't see and reporting this. Unfortunately most people decide to mind their own business. I just hope for the best for the boy and his sibling.

*Hearing (@ 9:30am ET) - FL - 11 year old boy (Dec. 25, 2020, Orlando) - *Timothy Lee Wilson II (34) (stepfather) arrested (1/1/21) & charged (1/6/21) with 3 counts of 1st degree felony aggravated child abuse, 1 count of 3rd degree child neglect & 1 count of 3rd degree child abuse. $1K bond. Posted (1/12/21) & released.
Only for *Kristen Nicole Swann (31) (“mom”) arrested & charged (1/6/21) with 2 counts of 3rd degree child neglect. Plead not guilty.
The boy told detectives he had been hit with a wooden broom, hung upside down from a door, and was regularly denied food as punishment. After Flavaine Carvalho (waitress @ Mr. Potato restaurant) called 911, the boy was taken to a hospital for his injuries, where he was found to be 20 pounds underweight for his age. The boy told investigators he had been abused on Christmas Day when the parents said Santa had suggested he be punished. The punishment included him being handcuffed to a furniture dolly, Lawler said, with his hands behind his back with rachet straps on his ankles and was made to set himself free. He was also hung upside down from his ankles in a doorway with ratchet straps. 4 year old was removed from home (was found not to have suffered abuse).
1/6/21 Update: Wilson: 1st appearance for all charges for #000201: aggravated abuse & neglect. Bond is $1K. 1/9/21 Update: Wilson: 1st appearance for charges on #000027: 3rd degree child abuse. Who are these SICKOS? Where do they get their ideas from? Why would you hang a child at all, let alone upside down? This poor boy - marked as the family scapegoat, probably wondering why every day of his life.
