Two weeks after she disappeared, family members of a missing Fort Lauderdale woman still exist in a limbo of anguished uncertainty.
Wednesday morning, Watts appeared in federal court in Miami to answer charges of violating probation stemming from a 2010 conviction for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
"He has a tendency toward violence against women," Assistant U.S. Attorney Maria Medetis told U.S. Magistrate Judge Edwin G. Torres. "Including the mother of his children."
Watts is the father of Scott's 1-year-old son. She also has a 3-year-old daughter.
Now, more than three weeks later, Scott is still missing. Her car was discovered, empty, under a bridge near Moore Park on Northwest 36th Street, and the last phone call she made — before her phone was turned off — was to Carl Watts, a former boyfriend and the father of her 1-year-old son, according to her family...
Scott’s family spent Sunday passing out fliers, hoping that someone has information about her. Arthur Scott said that Trukita’s children don’t know what’s going on — the family has been telling them that she’s at work — but they miss their mother.

He told detectives he is lonely and can be persistent when trying to pick up girls.
Watts, who has a substantial criminal history that includes three previous kidnapping charges, was arrested Friday afternoon. Deputies said he was charged with one count each of false imprisonment and battery. He is also on federal probation on a weapons charge.
Cellphone records suggest that a missing Fort Lauderdale woman and her ex-boyfriend were in the same vicinity in the hours before she was last seen more than six weeks ago, a federal prosecutor said Tuesday...
Scott went to work at U-Haul on June 25 and helped her mother run errands before dropping her off in Miami. She was last seen about 2 p.m., Medetis said. Citing information she said came from detectives, Medetis said Scott's cellphone was shut off at 4 p.m.
That same day, phone records show that "the defendant traveled to Liberty City [in Miami], where her car was found," Medetis said.
Marking almost 2 months since her disappearance, Trukita Scott's friends and family released balloons into the air as a reminder that she has not been forgotten. Trukita Scott's friends and family are not giving up hope. They think someone must know something about her disappearance. Anyone with information about Trukita Scott's whereabouts is urged to call Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS (8477).
A man who has been described by prosecutors as a "person of interest" in the disappearance of Fort Lauderdale resident Trukita Scott was sentenced Wednesday to 11 months in prison after a federal judge found him in violation of supervised release on a weapons charge.
Carl Watts, 38, was charged in June with false imprisonment and battery after he allegedly tried to force an 18-year-old high school student into his car while she sat at a West Sunrise Boulevard bus stop in unincorporated Broward.
The state later dropped the false imprisonment charge.
While Watts is not a suspect, investigators said his behavior has raised suspicion. "Mr. Watts was spoken to by detectives," said Fort Lauderdale Police Detective DeAnna Greenlaw. "The information that he provided to them is not available for release, but I can tell you that he has been extremely uncooperative throughout the entire investigation."
According to detectives, they have hit a wall in the investigation, and they need tips from the public to move forward and bring Trukita home.
In honor of her 25th birthday, Trukita Scott’s family and friends sent balloons soaring into the sky hoping somehow their message of love will reach the young mother who’s been missing for months.
“I wish nobody has to go through this really – not knowing where my daughter’s at, can’t speak to her. The kids are crying. They’re looking for their mom. It’s very, very hard, very hard,” said Charles Scott, Trukita’s father.
Little C.J.’s mother couldn't be found in time for his second birthday. On Saturday, two days after the young boy turned 2, a group of volunteers, including divers and search dogs, searched for the missing Fort Lauderdale woman in a grassy field and canal in Miami Gardens. Trukita Scott was 24 years old when she vanished on June 25. She ran errands with her mother that day and planned to return home for a nap before picking up her children from day care. But she never showed for C.J. and 3-year-old Monae. That’s when relatives knew something was terribly wrong.
http://miami.cbslocal.com/2015/01/17/prayer-concert-held-for-missing-mom/BROWARD (CBSMiami) – Family and friends of Trukita Scott hosted a prayer concert in her honor Saturday. The concert took place at Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill in the morning. Event coordinator O.C. Ibeji said the concert is about supporting Scott’s family in a tough time and also raising awareness about missing persons.“What we have is a family in need. I saw the news and it touched a nerve. To see these kidnapped people and families having to go through the holiday season not knowing where their loved one was,” he said. “We wanted to make stand here. We wanted to throw an event not just on behalf of the Scott family, but throw an event on behalf of all missing persons in South Florida and throughout the country.”
Scott has been missing since June 25th. Her car was found a week later in Miami near NW 40th Street and 10th Avenue. Since then there have been few clues for the police to follow.
