On Saturday, Michael Wash and Lasherae Davis waived their first appearance, according to WSBTV. They are being held without bond. Their next court appearance will be July 15.

Our partners at WXIA report a seven-year-old was killed this past Sunday or Monday, and police in East Point, Georgia, say they believe her father and his live-in girlfriend had a hand in her death. Authorities tell WXIA they believe 27-year-old Michael Wash and 30-year-old Lasherae Davis drove 7-year-old Kamaire Wash to the lake and left her in the water.

Bartow County Coroner Joel Guyton said Friday morning the body pulled from Lake Allatoona was that of a female child, but did not identify her.


Due to the decomposition of the body, the coroner's office was unable to determine the child's race.


Based on his professional opinion, Guyton believes the body may have been in the lake anywhere from 3-to-4 days.

Grand jury formally indicts couple for death of girl found in Allatoona Lake

Michael Wash was indicted on charges of murder, aggravated assault, first degree cruelty to children, making false statements and concealing the death of another. LaSherae Davis was indicted on charges of first degree cruelty to children, making false statements, and concealing the death of another.

According to the indictment, Michael Wash beat Kamarie, striking her with "an object or objects" with enough force to seriously injure her. In addition, the indictment says Wash and Davis both neglected to seek medical care for Kamarie at that point.
