Giant tarantula discovered in Sri Lanka

I actually like spiders - especially jumping spiders that are sort of cute if you take the time to look at their faces. They also have a brain that's, in proportion to body, about the same size as ours.
When I was in High School my friend Todd had a pet Tarantula(normal size) named Terry.
I used to hold it in the flat palm of my hand which was safe since they cant bite you there, they need and angle like a finger or the side of your hand.
I remember he used to buy cartons of crickets to feed to it.

I hate mosquitos worse than spiders and may regret it, but allow those big fuzzy spiders to make their thick webs in the corners of my front porch overhang because they catch so many mosquitoes. I'm wondering if they're wolf spiders because we hardly ever see them. Accidentally stepping on a waterbug was awful, bleck. Washing and spraying my foot with lysol still didn't help. That may be when I started wearing flipflops around the house because a few of them always get in even with spraying and bug bait stations put out yearly.
