There is no excuse for the state not verifying the statements made by Brad. It infuriates me. As a juror,
I would be wondering how competent they are . You put an expert on the stand that answers incorrectly. Probably any 10 year old on FB knows that answer.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

I think the issue is they didn't put an expert on the stand. They just put some guy up there who works in their office (no offense meant to the investigator witness but he doesn't even sound like a prolific facebook user).

I wish we could have a do-over for today.

I didn't catch of the judge said how long each side has in closing, he did say each closes, then the State can rebut the defense (but not give another closing), but didn't hear if there's a time limit.

No until 2pm.
I know he was saying there's a 2-hour lunch, and we would resume at 2:00 PM. But after he talked about reading the charges to the jury, I thought I heard him say, as he was about to leave the bench, "we'll be in recess until tomorrow." I even heard someone repeat, "tomorrow?!" in a shocked or exhausted tone of voice. Maybe I, and that other person, misheard? Or maybe the Judge misspoke? Or maybe I'm just hangry. :D

Tammy's Facebook page doesn't have any actual times on her posts. Just dates.

Hmmmmmm.......what does this mean? That she didn't know you could change the times? Just changed the dates?
For the posts not showing times on FB, if you hover over the date, under the poster's name, it will give you the date and time of the post.

Townsend said to the best of his knowledge, Facebook automatically updates for Daylight Saving Time. Said he's never had to do manually do it.

State and Defense have both rested. Two hour lunch break today. #TammyMoorerTrial

He shows the jury how to change a date on Facebook and says a date on it could be insignificant. Calls it a simple process to change the date

State rests. Now some boring stuff before we get back to jury charge/closings

#TammyMoorer - Two hour lunch break then we expect closing arguments.

Brad, did answer the question - yes the dates can be changed and he should have left it at that. His wrong response makes the state look incompetent, IMO.

Mistakes like this are inexcusable. Brad will catch a lot of heat from this stupid answer.

Could be correct. The charging part can take a LONG time.

Considering the witness was not described as an expert I don't really think his testimony is a bad thing for the state. It could have been anyone on the stand. I'm guessing they showed the video of him making the changes on the post and if the time didn't pop up while he was recording it doesn't prove him wrong. He was only there to show that the date can be changed. And it was to also show that TM had just lied when she changed the time on the exhibits stating the time didn't automatically change for DST. JMO

EDIT to add: I missed part of the testimony when I lost the feed so I could be way off. Sorry

No, it's the times she changed on the night they took Heather. Not the date.

It is over and done with on Brad's testimony. It is unfortunate that it came near the end . Hopefully, it will not have an influence on the jurors.

Guess I will get back to work.

Until later!!!

So, if the date/time is edited, facebook does show you the post has been edited. After changing the date and time a small greyed out clock appeared next to my post. Upon hovering over this clock with my mouse a little pop up states "Added on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at 6:40PM".. The date was changed to another month and year.
