Highway Serial Killings Initiative

Thank you for providing information on how to look things up, do you know about any of the killings along Kentucky Highways?

Thanks,

Iam a member of the 4horseman, we are a group that tracks serial killers across the U.S.A. If any of those cowards are reading this just remember we are out there to. We do not call 911 and justice will be slow. I lost a dear friend to one of you. Be prepared if and when we find you.

I forgot to say that we are long haul truck drivers. My route is I-40.

is there any information on the victims or the location where they found

someone needs to change highway serial killings initiative map into a google map to make it more understandable

is there any info on the victims or the location where they were found

I have read the article it gives no information on the victims

Are there any known long haul trucker killers that were arrested after December 2006 other than Bruce Mendenhall ?

Robert Rembert Jr was arrested in Sept 2015, Adam Leroy Lane was arrested in 2007, & John Wayne Boyer was arrested in 2006 and convicted of murder but after being compelled to give his DNA was charged in 2015 for a 2005 murder he committed.

I know there is a picture map at the end of the article, but is there any way we could get access to an "interactive map" of some kind that would have links to the cases? It would be so much easier to track cases and make connections.

does anybody knows the name of the victims or date of the crime

I recently was talking to a trucker about the newly required gps tracking and logging systems and how this should help track potential serial killing truckers. Any others with thoughts about this.

Sounds like a good idea Dchips but in my opinion these truckers that kill are not going off their scheduled run. If tracked, they are where they are supposed to be etc. From one point (industrial area etc.; truckstops; to drop off and pick up spots.) No deviation from the path ....so it is whoever is unlucky enough to be on same path....JMO I drove in 90's and we had satelite back then so we knew every turn, stop the truck took was being monitored so not good idea to go off course without good reason. Just my two cents!! But if someone has suspicion....it could easily be traced.

I had a very scary indident last year....I was merging in my car....it was a short mege (sign clearly told traffic to watch for us) and I had great clearance between me and a truck....well he floored it for no reason (I was not slow, i was not cutting him off etc....I know those reasons they speed up) but he literally put me between his truck and a steal barrier....I just froze while he narrowly squeezed me. For the 1st time in my life, it felt intentional....I caught up with him...he refused to acknowledge me so I got his truck company name etc. and called him in. They tool it very seriously thankfuly and would know within time what truck was passing me at that time and place. It was a very strange experience and I wonder if he could be a very callous cold person....like an sk???? Scared me!!

kat913 I would have been scared too. Glad things worked out.
My thought was that since it seems that many victims get quickly dumped on the side of the road along interstates or in pull offs and unfortunately some placed just out of sight, that this technology would pick that up. One of my friends husbands, who is also a trucker told me that anything other than what should be happening reports and he gets a call and if he deviates in anyway it is registered. He also said if it registers his time as too long or when he doesn't connect that immediately he must notify his company or be fined.

During the past four decades, at least 459 people may have died at the hands of highway serial killers, FBI statistics show. Investigators do not know how many people may be responsible for the killings but at least one such case — of murder, attempted murder or unidentified human remains — has been reported in 48 states, along roads as far north as Alaska and as far south as Key West. They believe the killers find their victims and dispose of the bodies along highways, sometimes near quiet roadside rest areas or at bustling truck stops.

Often, the victims are prostitutes, abducted in one state and dumped in another. And the killers? Authorities say they have 200 suspects; almost all are long-haul truck drivers. To date, the FBI says it has helped local authorities arrest at least 10 suspects believed to be involved in more than 30 of the killings.

Harrigan and other law enforcement authorities believe serial killers still operate along some of the most well-traveled roads in the nation.
"They're out there," he says.

Harrigan says a typical motorist isn't in danger. At least 234 victims were prostitutes, he says, and stranded motorists represent "a very, very small" number of the homicide cases. But Harrigan will not say how many, and he acknowledges that investigators know "nothing" about 130 of the victims. Among the mysteries are more than 80 cases — including the February case in Barstow — in which authorities couldn't identify the remains or recovered only body parts.

That's a lot of Doe's.

We have another thread on this subject somewhere from last year when the report was released. I'll look for it and see if we can merge the two. At the time we talked about the high number of unsolved highway killings along the I-40 corridor, particularly Tennessee, Texas, and Oklahoma.

Hey! I had an incident in Denver CO which enlightened me to something most of you maybe do not know!
I was trying to deliver to a Pepsi plant right downtown Denver. My trailer tandems were back a little because I was heavy and that’s where they were legal.
There was a construction crew setting out cones to the left, blocking off a lane they were going to be working on and like a foot drop down on the right side for a lane they had dug up.
Unfortunately my truck was a standard semi width and I wasn’t dropping off the edge off the pavement to the right. So I put my tires on the very edge of my lane to my right, letting myself have an inch or two so I didn’t drop off into that foot deep lane to the right.
And I ran over every single cone they were putting out on the left side. Because it wasn’t wide enough for a truck. Just cars or pickups.
Now, there were two blocks to go before my first wide right swing onto the street I would follow for another couple of blocks, then swing wide right again. Then go up the same road to a stadium then right again into a gate into Pepsi.
I stopped at the first red light. Then when it turned green I went another block and stopped at the street I was going to turn right at, as soon as traffic cleared.
And here came this black male just running up the sidewalk soooo fast! Chugging his arms like a train.
I saw him a few hundred yards back because I was checking my right again because traffic had cleared and I was turning right on red before opposing traffic got their green. But for him I stopped. He was running with all of his might.
I said to myself, “Good thing I check several tilmes before I turn! I would have swung the truck and run him over!”
Man! He didn’t care whose light was red or green! I thought he was just running down the sidewalk across all the intersections!
Imagaine my complete surprise!
He started beating the sh@t out of my truck tractor with his feet and his fists. Beating the little window trying to break it. Hopping around like an little apoplectic kangaroo!
I put the window down just to see what was wrong and he started flinging himself up there. Getting his finger over the edge of the open window and swinging with his free arm.
I rolled the window up because he was going to bust my window and get that door open and beat my white a@@ for running over his cones. He was shouting enraged calling me filthy, racist, misogynistic, vulgar names.
Well the lane was not wide enough for my truck.
I thought he worked for the city. And I have been driving a long time. I have never seen anyone erupt into such a fit of rage before. Even in an accident situation I have never seen anyone behave this way.
So when I got backed into the dock at Pepsi I called the cops on him and told them everything.
I told them if he was working for the city he couldn’t just be attacking peoples’ cars everytime he got angry. What if I were a senior or something. He really attacked like he would have beaten my white ho a@@ up if he could have gotten that window broken.
He ran two blocks to beat up my truck. Like a crazy wild animal.
When the cops came, there were 2 of them and they said road construction crews don’t work for the city. They come from all over the country and just bid on a job. And anyone could be on a road construction crew. Illegals. Ex-convicts. Gang members. So they were going to go talk to him and figure and out what they could about him. That drop off was like a foot on the right and I wasn’t going to damage my truck tractor just because they weren’t smart enough to make the lane wide enough.
So anyway, has anyone considered it could have been part of a road construction crew?

No,That is not how it is with company drivers or o/o’s either.
I shop a lot. I take the tractor trailer around back in shopping centers and get my hair/nails done, buy groceries, eat in restaurants, see movies- whatever I want!
Maybe Fed Ex or Union jobs are this controlling?
But we can just log off duty for a break. Also you can take the fuse out of the Qualcomm I am told if you want to go off the grid for a while. And I have never done this, but I guess other drivers have. Most companies are happy as long as you follow their routing and pick up and deliver on time.
Until December of this year a lot of o/o’s still ran paper logs. And they like to load and hurry up and run straight through to a casino so they can eat and gamble until the last minute and still make their deliveries on time.
And they could run with buddies, which the Mexican trucks do a lot. 4 -6 Mexicans o/o’s running together. Usually Mexican owned trucks run wide open and they run 80 - 110 down the interstates. And they are kind of bullies. They tailgate other trucks, and cut us off short. And buy extra bright bulbs to replace their standard bulbs with. Then put extra bright bulbs in their fog lights. Then add 2 - 4 super bright off-road lights. And a halogen-light bar. Then they run down the road blinding everyone and laughing about it. They are kind of rude and inconsiderate drivers.
They have at least their wives in there or a team of 2 - 3 Mexican drivers. Which -Mexican drug cartels have admitted they have fleets of car and trucks and planes to move their shipments of illegal drugs in America. Also some Mexicans gangs practice cannibalism, also random killings for fun.
One Mexican driver told me if you stay in the Southwest you can get around a lot of the scales so he doesn’t even need to have a CDL. And he paid cash for his truck.

Can anyone guide me to where this "Dr No" forum/topic is? Are there any composite drawings of him? Are there any survivors who have come forward to describe details from inside the truck etc? So many questions...IMHO
