This probably isn't her. The height is off, and the timeline is inconsistent with the postmortem interval.

but the resemblance is amazing!!!

It looks like the artist was looking at Sherry when he did the drawing!!

Again, there are a lot of inconsistencies, but considering that there is a $10K reward out for info leading to the arrest and conviction of the perp involved in SAM's disappearance, I am calling this one in anyway. I'd hate to see it turn out to be her, and miss out on a chance at the $10K reward.

I know that the reward is for the arrest & conviction of the perp, not the recovery of her remains, but sometimes the recovery leads to the perp.

If she has been ruled-out, then I can put her name here, and others won't be tempted to call this one in (as I was).

I totally agree with you Carl about the resemblance between the UID and Sherry Milton. Wow!

Have you heard back from LE?

I just spoke with Det. Bristoe of Birmingham PD. I made it clear to him that I thought it was a long-shot, but because of the amazing resemblance, it might be worth a look. He took down the info and said that he wasn't sure what they had on Sherry Milton (e.g., Dentals, DNA), but he would look into it.

I don't live very far from Brooklyn in St.Clair County, and there is a St.Clair Ave. that runs right through/on the border of the Brooklyn in St.Clair County. Right away I assumed they were actually referring to St.Clair County, not Schuyler County, because of St.Clair Ave. and the fact that the number to call with information is a 618 area code which covers southern IL. If I'm not mistaken, Schuyler County has a different area code. Tomorrow I'm going to call the number listed on the DoeNetwork page to have them clarify which county is the correct one, and to inquire about weather or not Cynthia was ever compared to this UID.

You are correct. Southern Illinois parts of which are right across from St.Louis would have a 618 area code. Schuyler county is more Central Illinois (graduated from Western Illinois University) and lived in Springfield Il at one time, they have a completely different area code/codes (217 and can't remember the other one sorry, 309 maybe?).

A colostomy (sp?) bag? Ok that right there would be a huge indicator. What causes someone to use that bag? I wonder if the UID, if listed as a missing person, doesn't have info on the bag published but does have info on the sickness.

Lieber - OT but went to the same school :)

And yes, 309 is the area code of the town of WIU if I remember correctly.

You're correct lieber!
The telephone number for the primary area of Schuyler Co. is 217.
The upper most section of the county, if you follow a county map, is listed in the 309 area code. This runs, I believe, from the Brooklyn Twp/Plymouth area all the way to the northern and eastern sections of the county where it meets with the Fulton County line.

Stuff like this is beyond huge news in Schuyler Co. and is talked about for many years to follow.. I've lived here (Schuyler Co. Area) since 2006 and with family working both in law enforcement and at the hospital, I surely would've heard about something this big.

Thanks Cyan I was beginning to question my own knowledge. I lived in Springfield, IL the year this occured and feel I would have heard something. Being from Central Illinois and traveling through Schuyler County many times in my lifetime remember it being a farming community identical to the one I grew up in. News such as this is really big, I forget that residing in St.Louis were we have a few of these type of cases or more every week how big something like this is to a small close knit community with very low crime rate.

I noticed the new listing for Deanna Howland, of Alton Illinois

https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/29951/0

She appears to be a very reasonable possible match to this Jane Doe.

https://identifyus.org/en/cases/12167
http://doenetwork.org/cases/533ufil.html

• She was LKA 11-May-2004. The Jane Doe was found on 21-Jan-2006 with an estimated date of death between 2003 and 2005
• She was LKA in Alton Illinois. The Jane Doe was found approximately 20 miles away in Brooklyn Illinois
• Her listed height was 5'3". This matches the Jane Doe's estimated height (5'3").
• Her facial structure is very similar to the artist's depiction (See Below)
• The only inconsistency is her age (35) which is slightly high compared to the UP age estimate (18-30)

UP12167%20and%20Deanna%20Howland.gif

Dental or Fingerprint comparisons would not be possible, as dental records are unavailable for the MP, and fingerprints are unavailable for the UP.

But it appears that DNA samples have been submitted for both the MP and UP, though neither are listed as complete.

I submitted this by email to NamUs regional admin Amy Dobbs.

Yesterday the DNA on the UP Namus was changed to Sample submitted - Tests complete
