Regarding the "DNA Submitted - Tests Complete"....

Can we make an assumption that this will be run in the system by Namus, or does a specific MP case have to be given to them to run the DNA against ? I've always suspected that if some sort of mass comparison was done with UPs and MPs in Namus, there would be all sorts of hits (I realize that this is idealistic and that there is probably no centralized method of doing this).

So back to our nursing home patient. What do you all think ? So far, my few forays into posting in Websleuths have generated dead air :desert:

OK, call me crazy, but I have an idea on this one. Here's where it came from. This case doesn't have a lot of identifiers, so I'm flying blind here, but what we do know is that she was roughly 71, which means that she was born around 1946-47. My mother is exactly the same age, and also has dementia, and I'll tell you, it has aged her both mentally and physically and she looks nothing like she did in her youth. So, I went into Namus and pulled all the women who disappeared after 1945 in Illinois, who would have been the right ages at the right times. Then I started backwards from 2003, which is when this poor lady was in the institution she was in. Then I'm choosing to believe the story that she lived in care for 27 years prior to that, which means it was someone who disappeared before 1976. So, I took my list of women who disappeared in Illinois before 1976, who were the right ages at the right times, and came up with about 5. I'm keeping an open mind about the physical appearance, as I only have the basics from the photos, and like I mentioned, I know that a woman at 71 with dementia, or 58 with mental health issues (back to 2003 or thereabouts, when the younger pictures could have been taken), and I compared pictures of the missing women.

So here's where you can call me crazy, but could this be what happened to Mary Ann Switalski ? There's a 13 year gap, but that's enough in rough enough circumstances, maybe with mental illness in the mix, a breakdown, who knows...

It's the nose, and the eyes. I'm having trouble with the ears, which are very different, but years of earrings, or just age could change lobes possibly ?

It would probably be a serious long shot but I don't think you are crazy about the resemblance. I can see it.

I have heard that sometimes they have nuclear DNA and sometimes mitochondrial so they wouldn't match in namus, they would need a manual comparison.

Could she be "Seven Doe" mentioned in this article?

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-met-john-does-20120221-story.html

"She claims to be 71. She became a ward in 2003 after going into diabetic shock and landing in the hospital. Before that, she lived for 27 years at St. Francis Catholic Worker House in the Uptown neighborhood in Chicago. Police said Seven has "unreadable" fingerprints, something that is common with fire victims and others who have deformities."

Just to add few extras from article which are relevant:

Since at least 1976, the woman who calls herself Seven has lived without a formal identity.

She says she's 71 years old and a lifelong Cubs fan. She has fleeting childhood memories of visiting the Indiana Dunes but can recall little else and suffers from dementia. Her fingerprints are deformed and unreadable, according to Chicago police, who issued a found person report in 2003. Nobody has come for her.

She reminds me so much of Aundria Bowman.

I came just came across this thread I had not seen before?! Don't know how I missed this one?!
Ok I looked and found this woman missing from 1976 she was 31 which would make her around 70/71 in 2015.
What caught me was the lips and the short hair and ears. I know it's hard to tell with such a small and black and white photo but that is what I see.
And the fact that she sort of has the manly butch lesbian look to her that the UID has ( no offense to anybody just is how I can describe it) .
We don't have any stats so we don't know if the UID has the moles or blue eyes that the missing woman has . The only thing I can see is the brown hair.
Just throwing her out here on the thread. Maybe she said she had dementia when in reality she did not want to be found out that she walked out from the Navy? Just some thoughts.

Hmm. If they are indeed her she certainly looks very "mannish" in those shots, especially the profile one. I wonder if she could have been transgender or a crossdresser, or perhaps a "butch" lesbian.
Thought the same thing and would be a reason she disappeared. It was harder to be accepted back then.

Hhhmm, photos from the 1980's could have been used a few decades ago to seek information about this lady!

Sad, is she now deceased? That could be a post-mortem image.
Yeah I don't get this at all:confused:. There are old photos of her (where did they come from?) and she has been with them for a long time You think they would have a little more info like even height weight eyes and hair color? This whole thing is just odd.

Identities of 5 in state care elude authorities

Great find Bombshell!

Now if this woman is Seven, it says in the article (((according to Chicago police, who issued a found person report in 2003. Nobody has come for her.)))) so wouldn't that mean they wrote down height weight etc ???

One thing I noticed w this Jane Doe seems as if her 2 front teeth are slightly longer than the rest of her teeth

It's possible that privacy laws won't let them release that information.

really privacy laws will let them release a photo but now height weight and eye color...iam just coming to think nobody wants unidentified people to be identified.. ugh:eek:

True, what privacy laws actually allow and how most hospitals and such interpret the laws are quite different things.
Oh Got it..so it's pretty much.. Here's a couple of Polaroids, now you go figure it out!... ahhh you got to love it.

I was looking at Vivians profile. Is she 6 feet or 60 inches. At 170 lbs? I don't know but her whole listing has a lot of typos so I can't really tell.

Yeah, that whole summary is a bit bizarre. (I suspect it may have been uploaded by an OCR application without proofreading.)

If she really was six feet tall, 170 lbs. would be a solid reasonable weight. If she's 60 inches, which is five feet, she'd be quite overweight.

I've read this post half a dozen times and this time the Indiana Dunes thing jumped out at me. Is there any chance she's one of the three missing women who disappeared from Indiana Dunes in 1966? (information is the same at all three pages) They were all around 20 at the time, so at the younger end of the estimated age range.
