His total bail is actually $1M not $100K. Bail was set at $250K per case and he has been charged in 4 separate cases.

R. Kelly bail set at $1 million for sex abuse charges

Finding this out this morning made my day. After binge watching all 6 hours of that documentary after the new year, I proceeded to google him about 5 times a day, so angry that he even had any defenders whatsoever. I hope him being in jail pushes the girls he had living with him back into the arms of family, at least into the offices of some therapists. At this point, it seems clear to me that he’s not ever going to tell the truth, so I hope the prosecutors do all that they can to find this man guilty. Thank you Chicago! I was worried he had too many friends on the inside to let this happen.

R. Kelly remains in jail on criminal sex-abuse charges, unable to post $100K bail yet

R. Kelly remained behind bars Sunday, two days after being charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse against four people Friday, unable as of yet to post $100,000, or 10 percent of his $1 million bond required for release.100,000 bail required for his release.

Records on the website for the Cook County Sheriff's Office show that the 52-year-old singer is still in custody and has a court hearing scheduled for Monday. At that time, a judge will be assigned to his case and he'll have the opportunity to enter a plea, reported The Chicago Tribune's Megan Crepeau and City Bureau's Kim Bellware.

Kelly's defense attorney, Steve Greenberg, did not immediately respond to a request from USA TODAY as to whether or when he might make bail. However, he told a judge that the singer's finances are "a mess" during the singer's bond hearing on Saturday.

That judge happened to be John Fitzgerald Lyke Jr., the same jurist who presided over "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett's bond hearing earlier this week.

So glad this moment has come. I hope justice is served.

Singer R. Kelly due back in court today

Kelly owed more than $169,000 in unpaid child support to his ex-wife as of Feb. 6. The court ordered Kelly to make a monthly payment of $20,833 on January 8, 2009, but Kelly failed to show up to that hearing, per court documents. To avoid being held in contempt of court, a judge ordered he pay $161,663 by March 6.

Kelly also risked eviction at his Chicago studio last month because he owes more than $166,000 in unpaid rent.

He's due back in court on Monday (today).

I believe that he will get off. As one poster previously mentioned, "The world does not value young women". I specifically left out race, because I believe that unless the women have some sort of power, they are powerless. It happens every day.

Mr. Kelly will probably get off, he will say that the young women lied, and led him to believe that they were over age of consent.

Although, his actions demonstrate a definite sociopathy, in that he got off before, he should have shown some restraint. He is such a narcissist that he thought he was untouchable and could do whatever he wants. I definitely believe that he is a sick predator, and the world would be a better place with him in a cage.

You left out a very, very important part of that quote.

R. Kelly posts $100,000 bail and is released from jail | Daily Mail Online

R. Kelly has been released from jail after posting bail.

The 52-year-old was released from custody on Monday after spending three nights in jail, during which time his associates and family members gathered the $100,000 necessary to bail him out.

Kelly was seen wearing the same outfit he wore on Friday when he turned himself into police: a black hoodie and pants, along with a blue jacket and white shoes with no laces.

He appeared to share a laugh with his lawyer as they approached reporters and photographers outside of the Cook County Jail.

The singer was escorted by his entourage into a black, unmarked van as he left the facility.

About a half-dozen of fans also stood outside the jail waiting for Kelly to be freed. Some of the supporters plated his hit singles, including I Believe I Can Fly until they were ordered to leave by sheriff's deputies.

Moments after pulling off from the jail, Kelly's vehicle pulled over and stopped. A woman was then seen stepping inside the van before exiting the vehicle several minutes later.

A short time later, the black Mercedes eventually stopped at the River North McDonald's on Clark Street.

Kelly was seen sitting in the fast-food restaurant eating fries and a burger. He also had a large drink. Kelly ditched his blue jacket and changed into a brown one.

I thought the space (him in jail) would give enough time to his “girlfriends” for them to pick up the pieces and flee to family after realizing their trauma. I’m scared that now he’s out their bonds will become even stronger than before :(

R. Kelly goes right back to jail for failing to pay child support.

Things have gone from bad to worse for R Kelly. The embattled R&B singer was already out on bail on 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse, for which he faces 40-70 years in prison if found guilty. However, on Wednesday afternoon, Kelly was taken back into custody after failing to pay child support.

This guy is a holy mess. OMG

If he acted like this in a calm setting held by a professional interviewer, can you imagine being a young lady and getting into a disagreement with him?? He scared me and I am watching from afar. Kudos to Gayle. I loved the way she said"Robert!" at one point. Like a mother trying to get her 2 year old son to stop his tantrum. Keep him in prison!
