Volunteers replace vandalized Spierer posters
Volunteers spent Saturday replacing posters of a missing Indiana University student that had been torn down.

Thousands of people have helped with the search for Lauren Spierer, putting up posters and searching nearly every inch of Bloomington. Recently, an anonymous letter was sent to Spierer's parents, criticizing the poster of their daughter as littering up the town.

Police give update on Lauren Spierer investigation
December 3, 2011 will mark six months since Lauren Spierer was reported missing and the Bloomington Police Department released the following statement updating their search for Lauren on Thursday:

The Bloomington Police Department continues to actively investigate the disappearance of Lauren Spierer which occurred six months ago on June 3, 2011. The Department continues to receive tips from the public and from other law enforcement agencies with information about what they have heard or with names of individuals that should be considered as possibly being involved. Those tips are followed up by a team of investigators who have been assigned to the case since the beginning and Lauren’s case continues to be the priority assignment for them.

Twitter continues to aid search for Lauren
On Nov. 24, nearly six months after Lauren Spierer’s disappearance, the woman behind @NewsOnLaurenS continued to tweet.

'Lauren's Law' activist petitions for mandatory polygraph tests
Lauren Spierer disappeared more than seven months ago. As search efforts for Spierer dwindle, posters bearing her picture are no longer present on nearly every telephone pole as they once were.
But a 17-year-old from Worthington, Ind., said he believes a law requiring persons of interest in missing persons cases to undergo polygraph tests would help investigators locate Spierer’s whereabouts.
