ETA another media Outlet is saying that the jury selection is to start on December 12th. The two outlets do not agree on a date it will start.

And 11 live here locally in Atlanta is stating the September date! Are some media Outlets copying each other verses verifying independently lol.

Yup, these say September 12. I checked the calendar and both 9/12 and 12/12 are Mondays!

Starting such a lengthy trial in the middle of December right before vacations for everybody and holidays and everyone from Atlanta having to travel... doesn't make sense to me. that would be the making for some pretty angry jurors if they had that around the holiday I could not go on Christmas holiday vacation because of Court schedule.

:dunno:

ETA then again if they did only jury selection before the holidays and the trial starting after the holidays that would make sense?

I agree, it must be September 12. They are also relocating an entire staff of people who were to work on the case from Cobb County, so you have issues with hotel rooms, moving in and out of a hotel over the holidays, etc.

I surely hope, for everyone's sake, that the trial date is September and not December.

Besides, no one wants to work on prepping a big trial over the Winter holidays (speaking of the plaintiff and defendants office staff, etc.)

Earlier this week, the Cobb Board of Commissioners voted to spend up to $200,000 from the Death Penalty Contingency Fund on relocation costs, since there are no death penalty cases scheduled for this year. The aborted jury selection in Cobb cost the county $8,025.

The trial is scheduled to begin September 12 at the Glynn County Superior Court in Brunswick.

Jurors will be selected from Glynn County, but Cobb will have to foot the bill.

The father accused of murdering his toddler by leaving him in a hot car will head to trial in September. Hundreds of jury summons are being sent out to Glynn County residents "as soon as possible", according to the Cobb County Superior Court Clerk.

Between 200 and 250 potential jurors will be questioned in groups, beginning September 12, 2016. Once the jury is seated, the prosecution is expected to take four weeks to present its case against Cobb County father Ross Harris. The defense expects to take an additional one to two weeks. It means the trial will likely last into the beginning of November.

Looks like we're getting a verdict very close to the election. Very interested to see how much national media coverage there is, with the trial happening during the Fall and during an extremely news-heavy period. I honestly see this case going the same way as the Nanny murder case 1997 where it's a high-profile case with very little longevity. Even if JRH is acquitted, well first, his acquittal is likely going to be overshadowed by the election, and the media already has OJ, Casey, and even Amanda Knox, before him when it comes to their favorite high-profile defendants who were acquitted.

The embedded video posted within ellenhawkeye's link is a must watch. I guess this is what was needed to do (in related to future appeals - my paraphrase).

It appears jrh' defense is now going to be paid by Cobb County. This includes their expert witnesses!

Wow, that's incredible.

Praying for #JusticeForCooper

I meant to post this article earlier in the week, but it slipped my mind. It's so brazen to actually take out an ad specifically directed to potential jurors.

But for the past few weeks, a classified ad running in The Brunswick News recommends that anyone interested in the Harris case should listen to “Breakdown,” The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s podcast that focuses on the hot-car trial.

I hope the judge agrees in the prosecution's favor

#RossHarris - DA wants to bring the car, calling it the murder weapon, to trial (5 hours away) Defense objects.

Judge rules in principle that #JustinRossHarris SUV will be viewed by the jury in #hotcardeath trial

I'm watching some of the pretrial motions - this judge is really pro-prosecution.

I think both the defense and prosecution lawyers are very skilled.

Attorneys argue over evidence in Ross Harris trial

There were several motions heard Friday in court.
One was whether or not the reenactment video can be shown to a jury.
Ultimately, the judge did not rule on whether or not she would allow the three-dimensional reenactment video to be shown. But she did rule to allow the jury to see the car.
The judge also ruled a mannequin created in Cooper's image could be used at trial and shown to a jury.

I with draw my previous post, I found it. :)
